The continuous thrumming in my head had finally ceased. Painfully, I forced open my eyes and drank in my surroundings. I was in a stone, damp room in which darkness devoured each and every corner. Light determinedly trickled through a small caged window slicing the darkness in half like a knife. Attracted to the light, I got up and walked towards it but something grabbed my wrists and burned them with the heat of a thousand suns. Startled, I gasped at the pain and fell back onto the stone cold floor with a muted thud. There were two steel cuffs bound to my wrists with iron chains trailing from them and eventually affixing themselves to the wall behind me forcing me to remain in my stone prison. My arms had a burning sensation coming from them and my mistake had caused my healing scabs to crack. Blood trickled from the wounds which circled my wrists like bands and caused them to drip onto my dirty clothes . Again, I attempted to move towards the window. Just like before, the chains scorched my skin. I tried to muffle the screams which threatened to escape and let out and grunted lowly.
"I advise not to do that."
Instinctively, my head up. A man stepped out of the shadows and into the light. He face was grimacing. As if he was sympathetic.
"What is this? Why am I here? Who are..." Questions poured out of my mouth like hot clay.
His face changed completely and he silenced me by pulling a syringe out from behind his back.
"I don't like too many questions. Now don't resist, it'll just hurt more."
He slowly walked over to my trembling body. He passed into more light, slowly enough so I can observe his features. He had midnight black hair swept across his face nearly obscuring his piercing blue eyes. He rose the syringe and as he brought it down the syringe, I frantically scrambled away.
"I said do not resist. Please. You do not want to make me angry."
His eyes were becoming a shade of amber.
"What are you?" I asked.
He seemed startled at my question. I used his uncertainty to my advantage and swiftly got up and kicked him in the stomach. He doubled over. Quickly, I wrapped the chains around his neck and his skin sizzled on contact. He growled. It was such a inhuman sound. He then started screaming.
"BETA XANDER! GET THE HELL IN HERE!"
A man in his late teens burst through the door and surprise came over him as he saw me throttling his friend.
He paced towards me, grabbed me around the waist and lifted me allowing the chains to sink into my wrists once more. The pain made me drop the man from my grasp. Good beaded around his neck and dribbled down his neck. Glaring at me, his eyes a deep amber, he picked up the discarded syringe and plunged it into my neck. Immediately, a blanket of tiredness came over me. Beta Xander dropped me on the floor earning a glare from the man.
"Get Doctor Edenstone Beta. I need him to tend to me and Luna Alex's wolfsbane burns."
"I'll go now Alpha Morgenstern."
Alpha?
Beta?
Wolfsbane?
I felt arms lift me up.
"I can't believe you guys didn't sedate her. I was there just to get some stuff. I didn't expect her to wake up! I didn't want to act like that! I love her! She's my mate. It was heartbreaking for her to hate me. To not know who I was! I want her to be sedated 24/7 until further notice. Feed her using the tubes. There is a pack war raging out there. I don't want her on the front line fighting against a ton of male werewolves who will do God knows what to her. You understand me. No more bullshit. Get it done!"
I'm not a wolf!
I am not a wolf.
I was human!
No I am human!
I am human!
I. Am. Human.
