Violet's P.O.V
School has just ended. Club activities are going on right now. Luckily for me no one is using the textiles classroom so I have it all to myself. I can sit any where but I like sitting in my assigned seat. My foot rests so comfortably on the pedal of the sewing machine. How can I not. I rested my back on the seat and sewed away. I could already feel myself forget. Forget the mess yesterday. The whirring of the machine removed any thoughts of him from my mind. The dress in my hands is three quarters finished. It's slowly starting to look like an imprint of the sky. I just need to add some sequences and lace, then I'll be finished. As I sewed on the lace, the door creaked open. As much as I want to pay attention to this needle and thread, my head snapped towards the door.
"Hey, Violet."
In entered a bored looking Crystal. "Come on, you've been at that thing for hours." She groaned and slumped into a seat next to me.
"Of course, the talent show is right around the corner and this is worth a good amount of my grade." I mumbled through the bit of thread i held in my mouth. I wish our teacher didn't make the talent show as part of our assessment. Everyone's going to see my work. Judge it. That's too much pressure. "Crystal you can still be my model, correct?"
"If it's for you, absolutely."
"Why does it feel like we haven't hung out in ages." She sighed.
"What do you mean, we hung out yesterday, and the day before that." I raised my brow.
"Yeah but it's not the same. We're always with Josh and his friends." Crystal pouted. I stopped sewing. I thought she enjoyed hanging out with them. Especially Josh. She looks so happy talking to him. They lived in their own world. Their own bubble. Almost as if no one else can step in it. "Violet do you really like hanging out with them. With Josh." His name lingered in the air. Is she asking me if I'm okay with her spending time with Josh? I removed the bit of thread from my mouth and cleared my throat.
"Of course." I pressed on a smile.
"Even after everything he's done to you?" I swallowed a painful truth. Something that's felt like a night mare for a long time. It's time to get over the past and move forward. I turned to stare at the blue eyed girl. This is for Crystal's sake. "Josh and I are friends now." I curved my lips to form what I think is a smile. "I've forgotten about all that." I certainly haven't. Crystal stirred in her seat and nodded her head.
"I'm happy for you."
I nodded my head and got back to work. I can't face her right now with the lie still lingering in the air.
"I saw you hanging out with those girls at the party."
My eyes drifted to the ceiling. Girls? Who is she talking about. My eyes widened. "Oh yes, Amber and Priyanka." I recalled. "They're in my textile class. I've never spoken to them until the party and they're really nice." I beamed. I can't believe I almost forgot about them. Amber and Priyanka. It's so nice to have people I can call friends in this class. Makes me think why I didn't talk to them sooner. Why I've trapped myself in a shell for so long.
"I see." A ghostly smile appeared on her lips. "Well, I met someone new too."
"Really, who?" I raised my brows. I didn't see her talk to any one new other than Josh and some of his friends.
"I'm not sure yet, I couldn't see his face." She sighed. "It wasn't too long ago, I was in the auditorium singing." That's right. Crystal has taken a recent interest in singing. She goes into the auditorium by herself some times to practice. She's too shy to sing in front of anyone other than myself. That is until she 'gets better' as she always says, but I think she has a beautiful voice. "Someone appeared out of no where and said, I'm beautiful. They ran away before I could find out who they are." I peered at Crystal. I narrowed my eyes because I almost missed it. Her cheeks flushed pink.
