By the time the blond shinobi's had brought the small group of foreign visitors to their home borders and guided them to a small building just to the left of the entrance doors, sat them down and made sure they were comfortable before one of them left to go get their leader, the other shinobi staying guard and keeping an eye on the bandaged man because he seemed...unhinged, Percy and his three wards were bored and starting to get restless from all this waiting around.
It was only when the daylight started to give way for the night stars did Percy finally move to get up and look for the leader himself because frankly they were wasting precious time.
Not even two seconds after Percy had finally straightened from his former position on the floor did a tall man with dull blue eyes enter the cold room, which really looked more like a prison cell than anything else but who was Percy to judge these people on their decoration skills.
A light blonde ponytailed haired man immediately set his sharp gaze onto Percy's seemingly relaxed form, but Percy couldn't fool the man with the way his feet were positioned as if to either fight or run away, his scarred hands twitching randomly as the demigod resisted the urge to finger Riptide to calm his nerves down.
A deep calming voice sounded throughout the room as the man spoke for the first time since entering the room, sharp eyes never once straying from Percy.
"I apologize for taking so long, I had some rather...urgent business that needed to be taken care of immediately. I hope my absence wasn't too much inconvenience?"
Percy stayed silent for a moment before Annabeth was jabbing him harshly in the ribs, prompting him to sharply inhale at the unexpected action.
Now he couldn't show he was in any pain so the only thing Percy could do was smile as pain bloomed rapidly from where Annabeth had hit his ribs and then he was numb.
'Tell that girl to stop messing around, with your eyes hidden from view and the dark energy radiating from your body, and those scars you wear like a second skin...if you start acting even more suspicious, I'm afraid your cover will be blown.'
'Shut up. You don't know Annabeth like I do.'
Erebus stayed silent but Percy could tell he wanted to say more.
However...now wasn't the time to be bickering.
They both knew that.
And so Percy only laughed wholeheartedly and grinned at the man in reassurance, "No problem! If anything you gave us time to rest from our travels, right guys?"
Percy glanced down expectantly towards the spot all three of his charges were lounging around at, making sure to look a bit off from where they really were, he had to keep his facade going on, after all.
Madara glared at the Yamanaka clan leader, while Tobirama's face kept showing that same icy stoic mask as usual, lips pull downwards into a silent frown, and Hashirama...Hashirama was frantically nodding with a lively expression on his face as he agreed eagerly with Percy.
It made Percy slightly uncomfortable with how much Hashirama loved getting praise and approval from the demigod, always so eager to please...
That wasn't to say that the other two were any better but...there was just something dark and heavy locked up and hidden from view inside of the older Senju. The other two had already unlocked that side of themselves, used it for their own needs and were already working to master it, but Hashirama had yet to show that side of his.
It made Percy wary.
And so he gave praise when they deserved it and made it so that it was rare to get a word of approval and acknowledgement from him, making them work harder to better themselves so that eventually they didn't need Percy to give them his approval and praise.
