If something could have irritated me more than being publicly humiliated on the first day, it didn't happen. I wiped the spaghetti off my shirt that had 'Try To Fuck With Me' scrawled in big white letters on it. "Well, they most certainly fucked with me," I muttered, glancing at the mirror in the girl's bathroom.
Five years ago, I would have cringed at the sight in front of me, considering looking like this wasn't even a choice to me. With shoulder length, turquoise dyed hair, contrasting with my hazel green eyes, pale complexion and dark blue lips. And when I say dark, I mean dark, almost as if black, but not quite. My tall but thin frame didn't help anything however, and I had the overall look of: stay away nine times out of ten.
Suddenly the door creaked open as someone rushed in. I turned towards the door, trying not to be awkward as possible. It was just some short brunette. She gave me a horrified stare before rushing into the stall behind me. I shrugged and grabbed my jacket out of my bag, throwing the Royal Bones jacket I had with me on. I headed out the door, going back to my dorm.
I suppose I forgot to mention what all happened today. Today was the second day of the Xavier's School of Talents, and although classes start tomorrow, I still managed to get publicly humiliated before school. If the food wasn't bad enough, I brought the last food Mom made me, and someone decided to run into me and splatter spaghetti all down my front and cause me to drop my food. Asshole..Wait, wasn't that the chick that ran into the bathroom after me? Whatever.
I dropped my messenger bag down on the ground inside the doorway. The school, needless to say, is huge. And the cafeteria just so happens to be on the other side of the entire school. I sighed and ran a hand through my hair, looking around my-excuse me-OUR room.
I didn't put but a foot inside the doorway before I hear my roommate, Emily. "Don't come in till you take off your shoes." Yeah, she is here for academics, one of the most brilliant people I know. However, she was almost downright crazy. I couldn't have shoes on inside the dorm, I couldn't look when she came out of the bathroom till she said so, I couldn't head down the hall anywhere without her, and most importantly, no one else would ever be allowed in the dorm, which is beyond me.
"Yeah yeah," I muttered and rolled my eyes, pulling off my Vans. "But before you come in, can you go back down to the lobby and get me a water?" Oh yeah...how can I forget? She was the most bossy nerd I knew. "Why not? Not like I have something better to do," I said sarcastically, picking my bag back up and walking back out.
