"I remember the fear in your eyes / the very first time we snuck into the city pool/ Late December with my heart in my chest and the clouds of my breath / Didn't know where we were running to / But don't look back"
Jack and I get out of the car, walking over to the chain link fence of the public pool. "What do you think? Can we make it over?" I ask Jack.
"Are you sure that we should be doing this? Not to mention, it's gonna be freezing once and if we do get in."
"Jack, we'll be fine." I give him a small smile before I start climbing over the fence. He lets out an audibly sigh before he follows shortly after me. "I hope." I say and he hears.
"Tessa!" He whispers once I hop onto the other side.
"Come on, Jack." He sighs before climbing fully over. I quickly strip into my swimsuit and step into the pool, chills running up my spine. He steps in besides me.
"That's freezing." He shivers besides me, making me laugh.
"It's not that bad.." I say, my teeth chattering for a second before gliding into the water. "Geez!"
"See? It's December, Tess! What made you want to do this anyways?" Jack asks, finally deciding to go further into the pool, goosebumps visible on his skin.
"It's been a while since I've done something like this, I don't know." I shrug. "Adventures?"
"How long are we gonna stay here?" Jack asks, looking around.
"Maybe... 10 minutes?" I respond, twirling in the water.

"Tessa... we've been here for half an hour. We should leave." Jack says, dragging me towards the stairs. I sigh.
"Fine... I guess we should get going." We walk over to the fence after getting dressed and climb over. We start walking over to Jack's car, holding hands. "Sorry for peer pressuring you into doing this." I say.
"It's fine... we just shouldn't do it again. At least, not any time soon." He gives me a small smile before opening the car door for me.
"Thank you." I say, getting in. He walks over to the drivers side of the car before getting in.
As he does, he gets a phone call from Daniel. He sighs.
"Are you gonna answer it?" I ask him.
"No... actually. We're going to just drive."
"Drive where?"
"Anywhere."
