Chapter 10

When my eyes blinked open the next morning, I had a short moment of panic waking up in an unfamiliar room.

Judd's room. I'm good.

Wait, no! I can't believe I stayed the night! I sat up quick and pulled the sheets up my naked body to my neck.

"Hey, what's wrong? You ok?"

My head snapped over to Judd at the sound of his deep groggy morning voice. He sat up next to me with a look of concern on his pale, puffy-eyed morning face. Why was he still so damn sexy?

"Yeah, sorry. I didn't mean to stay the night. I'll just get my things and be out of your way."

I jumped out of his bed and began searching for my clothes from last night.

"I wouldn't have had it any other way. You..."

Judd's voice trailed off as he took in my naked body. I self-consciously covered my naughty bits and continued the search of my clothes. He cleared his throat and continued.

"You really don't have to rush out, you know. Let's get some breakfast and then I'll drive you home if you need to get back."

My stomach growled loudly right on cue.

"No that's fine. Just let me find my phone and I'll order a car."

Judd slid out of bed and walked up to me. My eyes instinctively raked over his glorious naked body, from bottom to top. When I finally met his eyes he was smirking and I shot my gaze back down to the floor. He took the moment to step up to me and lightly placed his hands to the sides of my jaw under my ears. Warmth rushed over me at his loving touch, but my mind immediately kicked in, batting those dangerous feelings away.

"You're not getting a car. I'm driving you home. After all, that's what... friends do. Right?"

He smiled tightly and it didn't reach his eyes. This was so awkward. I knew it would be. Why did I have to give into this desire?

"Yeah. What friends do." I shrugged and gave him a sheepish smile. "Thanks."

I found and pulled on my lingerie from last night, but couldn't clasp the back by myself. Heat crawled up my face as Judd jumped into some shorts and turned to see me struggling.

He let out a soft chuckle. "Want some help?"

"No, that's ok. Thanks though. I'm actually just going to leave it like this."

He huffed and spun me around by the shoulders. As he hooked the clasps, his knuckles brushed my back and goosebumps broke out all over my skin from under his touch.

"Cold?"

I could hear the sarcastic smirk in his voice.

I took a step away from him and turned around to scrunch my nose at him. That got me a small laugh and head shake from him.

"Look, this doesn't have to be weird. We can still be us and you don't have to try to avoid me."

I took a deep breath and blew it out slowly through pursed lips as I looked back up to Judd. His gaze was focused on my pouted mouth.

"I know, I'm sorry. I just don't want to mess anything up with you."

He took a step closer and rubbed his hands up and down my arms. My mind flashed to how much pleasure those hands brought me last night and I shivered.

"Nothing has to change unless we let it."

My own hands moved on their own accord to his chest and I felt his muscles contract under my touch. My eye lids grew heavy as the comfort of his nearness enveloped me, my skin buzzed from our closeness alone.
