Chapter 1. Introduce Yourself

Elijah's leg jittered with anxiety and anticipation as we sat in the car outside his childhood home. Reaching out my palm, I hold his hand that clutched the steering wheel and send him a friendly smile. His parents had invited him along with his siblings for a family dinner and although he enjoyed spending time with his family the constant questioning on his life bugged him. Especially when they pertained to his love life.

So, he invited me to not only meet his family but be his pretend girlfriend for the evening. As much as I wanted him to come forward and just tell his family the truth, he would do what he wanted to at the end of the day. And I would be by his side as much as I didn't like it.

"Come on Eli, you got this!" I let out, "And if anything happens or you're ready to leave just say the word and we can go."

"Thank you, Star," Eli responded as we both exit the car and walked up the driveway of the grand home.

Although Eli and I have only known each other for a year and some months we became extremely close. I knew he came from a big family with an older brother and sister, and teenage twin younger siblings. I also knew he came from money, a ridiculous amount I'm now noting by the size of his childhood home. But I also knew none of it defined him. Elijah was an amazing guy, kind-hearted, sweet, and openminded, the way he grew up didn't change any part of that.

Ringing the front doorbell, he stood anxiously with my hand gripped in his. I squeeze back with a smile as the door opens revealing the face of a young woman, his sister. She looks just like him and was beautiful with the same tan smooth skin, curly dark brown hair, and heart shaped face. They looked more like twins than siblings who were 3 years apart.

"Eli!" She squealed out launching herself at her younger brother.

He steps back slightly at the impact, embracing her as I let out a laugh.

"Hi, Elizana. I missed you too," He says stepping out of her arms then gesturing to me, "This is Starlette, my girlfriend."

Elizana's brows rose to that before she looked over her brother then me subtly. She must've known, I mean how could she not.

"Nice to meet you Starlette," She said drawing me into a hug, "I love your name!"

"Thank you! It's so nice to finally meet you."

I slowly hug her back locking eyes with Elijah before she whispers in my ear, "I know you're not together, but I'll play along."

I knew in that moment that Elizana and I would get along just fine.

Stepping back, she invites us both inside. I walk alongside Elijah into his childhood home taking off my coat strolling down the hall behind Elizana. Leading us down the hall, she gives me a small tour of the main floor starting with the huge kitchen, library room, and even showed off the embarrassing baby photos of Elijah which I would save for later.

"Unfortunately, our parents and the twins are not here yet, their flight hasn't landed," She stated walking into what is the most beautiful living room I've ever seen, "But our older brother is here. Ezra!"

The tall man sitting on the couch turned our way and that was when my body went a flame and mind began racing. A quick play of the heated night we had together, after having a couple too many drinks at the bar, flashed in my mind.

My fingers scratching and digging into his back as my head thrown back in ecstasy. The way his fingers caressed and gripped my body, his smooth lips skimming my back, and the rough pull of my hair as he drilled inside me from the back.

Oh god.

"Ezra, this is Starlette, Elijah's girlfriend," Elizana stated locking eyes with her older brother before he shifts his gaze to me. Elizana cell phone blares in that moment and she excused herself leaving the room.
