Chapter 8

After that day, Jaebeom told me that the first step to get out of loneliness is to interact with people more often.

I just got out of my last class for the day and was about to call for Ms. Kim when a hand went over my mouth from behind and dragged me somewhere.

At first I was a little bit surprised but then composed myself.

I quickly elbowed the person in their gut and turn around to punch them.

"Wait, wait, Soo-Hee! It's me."

I lowered my fist when I see Jaebeom's face as he crouches down. He clutches the part of his stomach that I elbowed.

"Your elbow hurts"

"You are the one who tried to kidnap me first."

Jaebeom pointed at me and chuckled.

"That's true my bad."

"So, why did you do it?"

Jaebeom took a deep breath and stood up straight.

"I want to take you somewhere. I know you'll say no once you hear my plan."

"And what makes you think kidnapping me is better?"

"I plan to tell you on the way."

"Ah, and you think I would follow along with you once you tell me?"

"Well..."

I sighed.

"Where are you planning to go?"

"There's this new movie that came out! I heard it's a great movie! It's a horror movie and I thought it might be interesting to watch it with you. This way, you'll experience being with your friend and other strangers for more than an hour."

"What if I don't want to go?"

"I guess I can't make you go..." Jaebeom said as he pouted.

"Let's go. Quickly." I said. Knowing that if I refuse, he'll be sulking for weeks.

Jaebeom looked happy. He smiled at me and grabbed my hand as we take a taxi to the theater.

20 minutes later, I am sitting alone in the middle of the theater.

I look around to see the people that are finding their seats as they wait for the movie.

I sent a quick text to Ms. Kim knowing where I am and to not worry about me.

Not long after, Jaebeom sat beside me with hands full of snacks.

"Here. Take this." Jaebeom gave me the bucket of popcorn.

I've never really seen actual popcorn. Then again, I've never seen a movie in a movie theater.

I picked one up and slowly put It in my mouth. I never thought that I would like salty things like this so much. I can't stop eating them.

"You must love popcorn." Jaebeom commented.

"it's not bad."

Jaebeom just smile and shook his head.

Minutes later, the movie starts.

I can safely say, that is the most boring and wasteful 2 hours that I have ever spend. But then again, seeing many people scream and jump in their seats at nearly the same time is pretty funny.

"That was scary." Jaebeom said.

"That movie is very unrealistic."

"Hey, you would probably do the same thing if you are in the same situation."
