Well shit. This shall be the death of me...
When I ran into the person everything flew out of my bag and I sighed in frustration. I bent down to pick up my things also expecting the person to laugh and call me a name but instead they bent down and helped.
"Shit, I'm sorry." They said. I was very surprised. Like what?
"Your apologizing?" I asked. Only because this never happens. Who is this guy?
"Well yeah. That's what happens when you bump into someone, right?" He said, picking up my papers as I did the same.
"Not when you're me." I said quietly, sniffling a little.
He grabbed the last book and handed it to me along with the rest."Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah I'm fucking great." I said sarcastically, standing up. He stood up too.
"Hey, I was just asking." He said putting his hands up in defense. I sighed feeling a little bad about my behavior towards him.
"I'm sorry I'm just not having a great day. Just like every other day." I said glancing away.
"Well What's wrong?" He asked. Concern on his face.
"I'd rather not talk about it." I said, walking away from him. I didn't get very far because he stopped me by grabbing my hand. When I turned back around to face him he didn't let go of it.
"Can I at least get your name?" He asked, still holding my hand.
"Why?" I said raising an eyebrow. Today is just so weird. First Ace and now him. What else?
"Well maybe I wanna see you again." He was blushing a little when he said that. I kinda smiled at that.
"I'm Jess. And what's your name?"
"Does that mean you wanna see me again too?" Really bruh? I'm just asking, damn.
"Just answer the question." I sighed. I was a little annoyed now.
He smirked, "Adrian." Adrian. That's a nice name. OMG I just went full on nemo!!
"Well it's very nice to meet you Adrian. Also, if you don't mind, I would like my hand back."
"Uh, right." he said, blushing yet again. He then let go of my hand and took a small step away. "So I'll see you around?"
"Indeed." I smiled. He nodded as I turned on my heels. And guess who I saw. My best friend, Justin! We smiled at each other and I ran before jumping on him, engulfing him in a hug. He chuckled and wrapped his arms around my waste.
"You ready to go?" He asked.
I got off of him and said, "yeah, I'm ready." We turned and walked out the double doors.
"So who's the guy?" Justin asked glancing at me.
"What guy?" I knew what guy. I was just playing dumb.
"The one that was in the hall." He said in a 'duh' tone.
"Oh him? Just someone I ran into. Literally. My paperwork fell and he helped me pick them up." I shrugged.
"Mmmm... Oh so cliche." He said in an accent I can't even point out. He's so weird sometimes.
"Oh shut up, Justin" I hit his arm playfully, "You're so weird sometimes." I said, repeating my thoughts.
"Hey, you're weird too okay? Don't be such a damn hippo." Justin said, pointing a finger at me.
Did he just call me a hippo?
"A hippo? How does that make me a hippopotamus?" I said with confusion written all over my face.
"Oh lord," he facepalmed, "hippo as in hippocrate, duh. Get with it Jess!!"
"But no one says that. It's not a thing, Justin." I raised an eyebrow while looking at him.
"Ugh!" He almost hit me in the face flailing his arms everywhere. I just rolled my eyes. We walked throughout the school parking lot in silence. Once we reached his bike, I turned to him and asked,
"So, where are we going?" Justin was already sitting on the bike with his feet on the ground and his elbows on the handle bars.
"You’ll see when we get there.” He said rolling his eyes playfully. “ Now get on the bike so we can go!” Justin whined, tapping on the handle bars. So you see, since Justin is too young to get a car, we have to ride his bike. Well I just have to sit on the handles. I hate it though because it makes my butt hurt afterwards. I always ask Justin if I could just ride the bike and have him on the handles but noooo, he thinks that it’s weird and the girl should always be on the handles. I don’t know where his logic is coming from but I wanna find out so I can whack it with a spoon for making my butt hurt!
“I don’t wanna wait till we get there! I wanna know now so I know that you’re not trying to kidnap me and then kill me!” He had a less-than-impressed face and just blinked at me. “What? I’m being serious, just tell me!” I whined at him with my arms crossed over my chest.
“Jessica Elisabeth Hills! I swear to God if you don’t get on this bike I’m gonna leave you here!” Ugh! I just wanna know where we’re going! It’s not that big of a deal. But he would never leave me here. Actually, no, he probably would because he’s an asshole sometimes. So instead of protesting any further, I got on the handlebars of the bike. I was trying to get comfortable but it was no use. I held onto the extra space of the bars behind me.
On our way to our destination, wherever it is, Justin and I nearly fell a few times due to our lack of balance. I was trying to get a sense of where we were going but I just have no idea. Honestly, I just hope we get there quickly because my butt is starting to hurt.
A little while later Justin turned into this miniature forest, I guess you could say. It was a little more spread out.Some of the trees had little pink and white flowers on them. Sunlight shines through them perfectly. One of the bigger trees had and old little swing that was made of wood (cough cough-the cover-couch cough). This place was actually quite beautiful, peaceful even. Suddenly, the bike stopped so I hopped off. Justin did the same before putting it up against the tree. I went over to the swing and sat on it while holding the ropes attached to it.
“ Beautiful isn’t it?” asked Justin, or more so stated. I was in too much of a daze to form words so all I did was nod my head. For the next hour or so, we just joke around, talk, and listen to music from Justin’s phone. I really like this place and will be coming here a lot more.
