A Thousand Years - Kuroken Angst

Kenma's thoughts. (Cp. 2)

Today was the day that Kenma will stand up to Kuroo. No one in the world wants to lose someone they love, don't they? Unless it's for the better good, for the person's feelings. Kenma got ready for school. He brushed his soft, smooth and long hair. He stared at himself in the mirror. 

"Kuroo, is this really okay for you?"

Kenma was waiting for Kuroo to pick him up and walk together to school. Kenma pulled out his PSP from his backpack. He started to play.  After a few level ups, he looked around if he could see Kuroo anywhere.

"Rooster head, where are you?"
He continued to play. After a while, he heard a buzz from his pocket. A notification. It was from Kuroo. 

Rooster head:
"Kenma!! I'm so sorry I forgot to tell you that I'll be walking to school with Alissa, I'm so sorry Kitty. You must have been waiting."

"Kuroo..."

Rip. Kenma felt a small yet painful rip in his heart. Kenma thought that Kuroo was going to be there for him always. But no. Kenma was hurt, but he thought to himself. He told himself, he convinced himself that it was just as friends. It's okay for Kuroo to have other friends.

Kenma sighed, put the PSP back in his backpack. Kenma plugged in the earphones that were a gift from Kuroo, into his phone to play music while he was walking.

~Flashback~

"Happy Birthday Kitty! I got these for you, it may be small but it's from the heart!"

Kenma started to unwrap gift, tearing away the paper from the small box. It was a pair of earphones. They were blue, designed with roosters. 

"Tetsuro! What is this? It looks so ugly!"

"Kenmaaaaaa! I got this pair because I wanted it to remind you of me. I'm your rooster right?"

~End of Flashback.~

Kenma gripped on the wire, he was cautious not to break it. He opened spotify to play the song "Happier - Ed SHeeran (Acoustic)." He played it on loop, on his whole walk to Nekoma. On his walk to Nekoma, he crossed a street, the first thing around the corner was a coffee shop. Kenma wanted to get a small coffee or a boba drink to calm down his mind. He walked in. He scanned the aesthetic, bright, lit up shop. He came across a familiar voice..

"Hahaha! Alissa! You're so funny! Did Lev really do that.."

Kuroo's voice was fading, seeing him with another hurt him somehow. He shook his head and ordered a bubble tea. He then rushed out the door. IN the Corner of Kuroo's eyes, he saw a yellow haired boy, wearing red rushing through the door. He didn't mind it and kept talking to Alisa. Kenma saw how Kuroo noticed but prefered to focus on Alisa, he was again hurt. He kept walking to Nekoma, The music still on Replay.

He made it to the school. Got on with his day.

𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥

Kenma texted Kuroo to make sure he wasn't ditched again without him knowing. He oppened his phone, when he opened it.. Rip. He felt another rip in his chest. He was gripping the phone, staring at it's wallpaper. It was Kuroo. It hurt him seing his face again, but he resisted from changing it. He loved Kuroo too much.

Kitty:
"Kuroo? Are we walking home today?"

Rooster Head:
"Sorry Kitten, I can't today. I'm with Alissa."

Kitty:
"Oh. Okay. Enjoy!"

Kenma couldn't handle reading, hearing and seing the name "Alissa". He couldn't accept the fact that Kuroo has someone new. But he though to himself that he shouldn't overthink it. Kuroo is free, we're all people. He tried to run home but he got more tired, more tired than he already was. Kenma ran. He ran until his legs gave up. He fell to the ground, scratching his knees. Tears falling out from his eyes.  He looked up, he saw Kuroo, reaching out for Kenma. He could hear Kuroo's sweet, charming voice telling him to get up. Kuroo reached out his hand. Kenma tried to grab it, the moment he held Kuroo's hand, he disapeared. It wasn't real. That wasn't Kuroo. He started to clench his shirt, trying to grab his heart so it would stop hurting, It Didn't. 

He walked back home, didn't bother to atleast take a short shower. When he entered, he fell on the floor and drifted to sleep.
