It was well established that Bakugou didn't know how to hold his tongue. Especially if he wanted to berate Midoriya. I let it slide for a while, but he was beginning to really bother me with his domineering ways.

Dealing with him would be a lot more difficult than Mineta. He was cocky sure, but he was at least somewhat justified. He was smart, I just needed to be smarter. The studying tactic wouldn't work on him. But what would? We weren't exactly friends, and befriending him suddenly would be very suspicious. I would have to put this plan away for now, and wait for a more opportune time.

I didn't have any plans for the day. That is, until Kaminari and Mina found out there was going to be a test and they weren't ready. Now I had study time with them booked for my evening, but that's fine. Now those two can vouch for my good character.

§§§

"It's an exponential function?" Kaminari looked like he was seconds away from a mental breakdown. I was quizzing them with a practice test I found online.

"Why?" He needed to be able to explain his answer or else how would he get a good score?

"Uh... there's an X in the exponent?" He got it right, for once. If being stupid was a crime, then he would've been arrested a long time ago.

"Exactly! You're doing great." I gave him a smile and a thumbs up. I turned my attention to Mina, who seemed to be doing only marginally better. She seemed to be getting the exponential alright, but the quadratics were clearly throwing her off.

"Try factoring." I scribbled some instructions on her paper and got back to my work. It's not like I could go into the test unprepared myself.

§§§

I tried to focus on what I was doing, but I heard the two of them begin whispering. I was going to leave them alone until they started giggling. I swiveled my chair over to them to investigate their behavior.

"No cheating on the test." I glanced over their work, it looked... finished?

"We finished the test," Mina picked up her sheet and handed it to me. It was adequate, mostly right answers.

"Well then what are you talking about?"

"Well there's the dance this Friday, and we're thinking of ways to convince Bakugou to go with us." Kaminari laughed again, and I wondered what devious plans they were coming up with.

"There's a dance?" That could give me an opportunity now that I thought about it.

"Yeah! You didn't know about it? Some class rep you are!" Mina was playful, but I didn't like my authority being challenged.

"Oh... uh yeah no I just forgot about it. It was this Friday you said?" This could be even better than I thought.

"Yep, after school. Mina and I are on the planning committee but we could use more hands if you wanna help. You're smart so you could help with organizing stuff?" Kaminari dug around in his backpack and handed me a crumpled paper. I don't think he even had a folder in there.

"Actually yes! I can certainly assist with that." I looked over the paper, which outlined meeting times for the committee and the date of the dance. This Friday, starting at 6:00 and going all the way until 10:00. It would be perfect.
