Zordo paced around the camp, impatience pricking threw his paws. He looked to the sky, then his dark paws. Ice walked through the entrance by the Bramble bushes, followed by dusk, the deputy and the pack healer, Sun. I ran up to Ice, skidding on the muddy earth.
"Now can I go hunting!" I asked irritably
"No" ice responded
"But you said I could once you get back to camp!" I said desperately.
"Well... I lied" he grinned and stalked off to his den. My tail lashed up in the air, I grunted.
As I turned to my den and began walking my paws itched with annoyance I then stopped in my tracks, I glared back at the leader, they were out of site.
I stalked steadily over to the Bramble bushes, taking one more glance back, I threw myself out of the camp and ran through the forest.I arrived at a small pool of water and bent down to take a drink from it, the cool liquid sent a shiver through my body as I lapped the water up. I lifted my head, I could hear something, creeping threw the undergrowth, my ear flicked. I didn't turn around, I just pricked my ears up to listen to the sound of paws crunching the frozen leaf's. Bracing myself, I tensed. Something jumped at me sending me tumbling down into the shallow depths of the water, I opened my eyes, I was pinned by another wolf, I strained my eyes to see a beautiful golden wolf, her emerald gaze happily starring into my polar eyes, she smiled and laughed.
"Rose!" I barked happily, she smiled back, unpinning me and letting me stand up.
"I thought it was you!" I laughed, shaking the dripping water from my pelt.
"How!" She asked joyfully
"Well none of the other wolves can make such a loud noise while trying to stalk on something!" I replied, she rolled her eyes,
"I bet you couldn't do any better!" She said challengingly.
"That's sounds like a challenge" I crouched down into a hunters-crouch on the bank, "I accept it grateful-" I began
"Zordo! I thought you were meant to be in camp"
I straightened up, startled. It was Night-howl!
"Uhh- oh yes! I was- I was just getting a drink! So was Rose" I half-lied.
"You know there's some water in camp" Night-howl eyed us both,
"Yeah... but that's not as good, you know" I said making it up, the water in the camp is delishious!
"Fine, just get back to camp" he grunted and flicked his tail for us to follow. As we entered Ice and his mate padded up to us, he looked at Rose, completely ignoring my existence.
"Rose can you go help Calia teach the pups hunting and battle crouches, they're getting older and need to learn" Ice said quickly then turned to Night-howl "you go on a hunting patrol with Koda and Mist"
Night-howl nodded and walked off.
Ice began to turn around but I stopped him with my paw, "what about me?" I asked hopefully,
"You..." Ices voice trailed off.
"You will go and sit and do nothing, your presence is not needed" Ice replied rudely.
I went to protest but he flicked his tail and went off to join the hunting party, my presence is not needed?- great! I growled under my breath, I'll prove him wrong!I ran back out into the forest until I was far enough away from where Night-howls patrol would be. I sniffed around each tree, each bush and every stale prey track, but nothing. I sighed and sat down, my head low, maybe Ice was right- my presence isn't needed, as I thought that I suddenly caught a scent, it was something I hadn't smelt in a long time "Rabbit!" I shouted, standing up I followed the scent trail, it lead me to a huge open moor, there were three rabbits nibbling on the frost covered grass. I lowered myself down until the grass covered my dark pelt, slowly I crept forward a bit, pricking my ears. I stood up and began running straight to the rabbit furthest from the burrow, they let out squeals of terror and began running towards the burrow. I began to pick up more and more speed until I could almost out pace the rabbit, I leaped and landed squarely on it, I brought my head down and gave it a killing bite, it stopped struggling and laid motionless on the ground, the scent of rabbit blood filled my nose.
I lifted the rabbit in my jaws, my tail swung up proudly, this will show them, I thought.
I returned back to the camp, my head high. As I entered the clearing, my camp mates turned their heads to the smell of rabbit, their eyes shone with surprise and shock as they saw me carrying it.
Fox walked up to me "how did you-" he began but was cut off by another wolf.
"Zordo!" A voice growled, it was Ice
"I told you not to leave! How dare you disobey me..." ice's voice trailed off,
"You caught a rabbit?" Ice said surprisingly
I nodded,
"Well done!" He spoke with joy in his Bark for once to me.
I dipped my head in respect to him then walked off towards the prey pile and dropped it on the top, I turned my head,
"So what did you catch, then?" I asked, amusement in my voice, Ice looked shook, he growled slightly then pawed a small bird forward, I grinned at him.I walked over to my den, before I entered I looked to the sky, the dark starry sky glittered brightly as the moon rose above the clouds, I sighed and walked over to my nest and laid down in the warm moss lined nest. After awhile I drifted off into what i thought would be a peaceful sleep.
I blinked, where am I? I looked around wolves circled me, growling fiercely. I panicked and shut my eyes but when I opened them again I found myself in a burning forests, fires seemed to spread across the world, I looked down at my paws, a dark liquid coated the grass and my claws, I looked forward, a body of a wolf lay in front of me, blood pooled around and out of it of it, the scent of death filling the air.
"No!" I screeched, I knelt down next to the body, sniffing the gray fur.
I looked past the body, white paws were in front of me, ice! I looked at his face, terror struck my own, hatred showed in ices cold blue eyes,
"You are banished from my pack!" He shouted with all the spite in the world, but as he said this everything started to fade away into darkness.I lifted my head, breathing heavily and an uneasy feeling stirred in my belly,
"It was just a dream" I whispered to myself.
"Good" I put my head back down and hoped for a better dream.
