School was something she unapologetically excelled at. That and quidditch.

The first day of lessons was the most important, they set the tone for the rest of the term.

This is why Ria was up earlier than most students, sitting at the breakfast table quietly listening to music.

That was until someone had sat next to her, she assumed it was Estella or Sage so she continued to munch on her fruit in peace. But she felt eyes on her still so she looked up and was met with the curious gaze of Cedric.

"What are you listening to?" he questioned

"Nirvana?" She figured he knew them.

"What's that?"

'He must not have any connections to muggles' she thought to herself.

"Here just listen" she handed him the headphones and hit play, come as you are faintly being heard from the cheap headphones sitting on his head.

He started to get into the beat, his head bobbing a little subconsciously. It was actually rather funny seeing someone with two wizard parents act like this around muggle objects. He seemed to really enjoy the music though so she continued to let him listen while she turned back to the bowl of strawberries.

She noticed he took off the headphones once the song ended, he opened his mouth to speak but closed it once again seemingly trying to decide his thoughts.

"You're going to have to let me listen to your music more," he said simply.

"Ok" and with that they both turned back to their food, waiting for class time to start.

"Good afternoon students'' the voice of Minerva Mcgonagall rang out successfully silencing the once rowdy classroom.

"Now as you know all of you in this room are starting your third year," she paused looking at all the students, "because of this you are expected to start caring about your academics more due to OWLS in your fifth year" Ria shuddered at the thought of those horrid tests, Sage next to her did the same. "Because of this I see fit you are not sitting next to someone who will not distract you"

"Oh god, not a bloody seating chart" Ria muttered to Sage.

"Kill me know" she whispered back.

The room got louder as students began discussing the new change. It wasn't that big of a deal to Ria as long as she knew the person next to her. She just felt bad for the more antisocial people in her class.

"Silence," the professor raised her voice, "now when I say your name, you and your partner will go sit at a seat"

She began reading off the list. Sage and Ria were quietly willing to be seated together.
