"What?"
Alex backs away from the door leaving it open. Once seated on his bed, he fidgets with his thumbs waiting for Jessica to respond.
"Alex," Jessica makes her way to the boy after closing the door. Alex's thoughts are running a hundred miles per minute. His head is filled with the possibilities of what Jessica could say next. With how hard his heart is beating, there's no doubt that his twin could hear it.
Sensing the worry on his face, Jessica wraps her arm around Alex and kisses him on his temple. "Alex, nothing will change the fact that you are my favorite person in the entire world. You know that, right?"
Alex cursed himself yet again. Tears start to flow once more. Only this time his other half is by his side to hold him through it.
Just like when they were little, Jessica pets Alex's curly head while holding him in her arms. She doesn't have to do it often, but it never fails.
After a couple of minutes of pouring his heart out to his sister, Alex sniffles and nods to Jessica, "I'm okay." He grabs a few tissues from his nightstand to wipe his nose.
"Since when have you known? If you don't mind me asking," Jessica scoots back a little to turn her attention to her bother ready to hear the full story.
Alex let out a sigh, "Honestly, since like eighth grade."
Jessica's eyes blew wide, "Eight grade?! You dated Amber in eight grade!"
"Yeah, I know. How do you think I found out."
Alex looks at Jessica for her to say something, but her eyes were just filled with curiosity waiting to hear more.
"Fine. Okay so, we were making out-"
"Ew." Jessica turns her nose up.
"Are you 12?" Alex rolls his eyes before Jessica gave him a signal to continue. "Anyway, we were making out behind the band hall and I remember thinking 'When will this be over?' so I imagined that it was Roc Royal that I was kissing instead."
Jessica stares at Alex is disbelief. "Child', from Mindless Behavior?" Alex nodded.
With that Jessica leans back and cackles. Alex joins her realizing how funny the story actually is. He once was embarrassed by the memory but sharing it with Jessica gave it new meaning.
"So?" Jessica questioned once their giggle fest was over, "Are you going to the party orrrr?"
Alex rolled his eyes but nodded. His heart did a mini flip at the possibility of seeing Chris again. "I'll go if you pick out my outfit."
"Deal."
