with nobody bothering me and my music to distract me, i thought i could get to the hellhole known as high school in peace. a tall figure, his blonde hair swept upward, stepped onto the bus and looked around for a seat.
oh shit, not him.
i peeked at the boy through behind the heads of the people in front of me. his beautiful bright eyes scanned the rows for an empty space. i swear my heart stopped when his eyes met mine.
and then my heart continued beating. he broke the stare and found a seat a few rows in front of mine. i looked down, but quickly glanced at him as he took his long strides down the middle aisle of the bus. people greeted him along the way, and he returned the greetings with the same bright smile i saw earlier.
the girl that was with him before was gone, and i didn't know if that was a good or bad thing. the possibility that he didn't like her made my heart jump. but i realized i was bringing my hopes up again, and soon i would fall. and this time, if he wasn't there to catch me, i was done for.
