She watched carefully from the woods at the prison. There were walkers gathered at the gates. She watched carefully looking for signs of life when she saw it, the hat, her fathers hat on a young boy, her brother. Daryl was out in the field talking to a man she couldn't yell she would have to take her chance and get close. She lifted her knife and decided to try going slow then if she had to, she'd make a run for it. She made it about half way to the gate when something grabbed her foot. She yelped knowing she had been grabbed by a walker but it wasn't it was a trap of some sort she struggled with it trying to get it off her foot.

Shane was on watch, his head jerked at the incredibly fast walker coming out of the tree line. Then he realized it wasn't one. He screamed out to the others, "Rick!!" Andrea looked out and saw Elli struggling with one of the traps they had set. She ran for the gate gun raised shooting walkers that had heard the girl struggling. Rick and Shane struggled to open the gate as Daryl ran crossbow raised straight through to the girl pulling the trap off her foot and pulling her up. A walker came towards them escaping the gun fire and Daryl ripped her back towards his chest bringing up the crossbow to shoot it. He kept her in front of him pushing her forward grabbing up the basket as they moved. Rick opened the gate and pulled her through straight into his arms, Daryl jumping through the gate then helping Shane secure it. Elli collapsed into Rick's lap. Everyone stood in awe looking at the girl bury her face into Rick's shoulder, his arms wrapped around her as he sobbed. She had done it, she had fought just like Lori had told her to and now was in the arms of her father. Shane broke the moment "Elli why do you have formula?" Elli didn't unbury her face, her voice was muffled "They took them." Daryl was on the ground now moving her ankle and she flinched. Daryl helped her stand as Rick got up. Daryl adjusted his crossbow and stooped in front of her. "Here jump on." she stared at him, "Are you serious?" He snorted "yeah..this is a serious piggy back."
