So this is the last chapter of CWE! Thank you for all of your wonderful comments and support, not only on CWE but also on my other stories too. My lovely friend BlushesScarlett has ended CWE perfectly by making me a trailer for it, so do check it out on the side too. It's beautiful :) Finally, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all and I hope you like the chapter :) Love, Phoebe xoxo
I wake up to a knock on my bedroom door. Blearily, I turn over in my bed and see my Mum poke her head around my door. She grins and walks in, bearing a cup of hot chocolate with whipped cream on top. She walks over, snuggled up in her bright red dressing gown and matching slippers and bows down to give me a kiss on the head.
‘Merry Christmas, Matilda,’ she coos, stroking my hair and handing me my drink. ‘How was the party last night? And Eloise?’
‘It was really good and she’s fine,’ I mumble, taking a small sip of my warm drink. ‘Merry Christmas, Mum.’
‘I didn’t want to disturb Elijah, so would you mind taking him his drink in? She asks, nodding to outside of my room.
This makes me grin and I nod at the thought of seeing Elijah on Christmas morning. I don’t think he could ever have predicted spending Christmas with me and now with us in a relationship too. I hope he still feels the same way this morning. I take our drinks and head to his room and knock on the door with my head seeing as I don’t have a spare hand to knock. I can hear a low gruffly ‘come in’ so I do and smile to see him stretching out like a cat in bed. He grins upon seeing that it’s me and pats the space beside him. I eagerly walk over to him, placing his drink on the wooden bedside cabinet and pick the cover up a bit so I can lie beside him and nuzzle up against him.
‘Merry Christmas, Lij,’ I coo, watching as he wakes from his slumber. Not a second later, he moves under the duvet so he is lying on top of me, causing me to giggle in excitement. He holds all of his weight off of me as he leans down and murmurs against my lips, ‘Merry Christmas, Tilda.’ Before pressing little butterfly kisses to my lips before slipping his tongue in cheekily.
I don’t think either of us have the best breath this morning, but neither of us care, as Elijah’s hands gently stroke at my waist as my fingers tousle in his hair.
‘This has got to be the best Christmas ever,’ he tells me after a few minutes of kissing.
He moves off of my body and instead cuddles me to his side and kisses my temple. ‘You are my best Christmas present, Matilda,’ he tells me in all seriousness. I blush slightly, the colour rising to my cheeks at his sweetness. I interlink my fingers with his and bring them to my lips to kiss them gently.
‘Shall we go down now?’ I ask, knowing my parents are now up and about. I’m not really giving Elijah any option to say no, so head off to grab my dressing gown so I can feel cosy whilst we open our morning presents.
As I leave Elijah’s room, he calls out, ‘Nice arse, Tilda.’
I smirk and wiggle about just to tease him, before grabbing my dressing gown and slipper boots. I’m sure as anything I look like death walking, but it doesn’t seem to have scared Elijah off yet. We meet in the hallway and Elijah follows me downstairs, dressed in my brother’s clothes still. I think at some point we’re going to have to tell my parents about him being homeless and it’s only recently that he’s got a new job. I don’t want to deceive them for any longer than necessary.
I give Elijah the look as we head into the living room, as if to say when shall we tell them, but he shrugs and whispers, ‘Whenever. After you’ve opened your presents?’
I agree. Elijah wishes my parents a merry Christmas, even kissing my Mum and shaking my Dad’s hand before we sit beside one another on the sofa. It is only then that I spot the pure shock on Elijah’s face when he sees that he has a few presents too. He clearly has had no clue that we would have bought things for him. He looks carefully at the labels attached to the three presents, probably to check they are his before he looks at me and my parents.
