chapter 13:

"I thought you said you were going to find me" my voice echoed through the glowing forest again, he was bent down by the golden stream, tracing his fingers over the surface before he noticed me. He stood up and that intoxicated smile appeared again.

"I'm working on it" he assured me, his eyes trailing over my body again in the simple white dress. "How proud I am" he muttered. I blushed and looked down at my bare feet.

He seemed to cross the space between us in a matter of seconds, silently his hand came to my chin and lifted my gaze to fall on his again. "I knew you would be able to do it my powerful little wolf" his voice caressed my senses. I couldnt have looked away if I wanted to.

"I dont know how I even did it. But I heard your voice in my head" I explained. He nodded and chuckled "how did I do it?"

"You'll come to understand soon" he assured me, "I will help you"

I smiled at him like a school girl seeing her biggest crush. He consumed my every sleeping thought as his beautiful golden eyes bore into mine.

"I'm with a different pack now " I explained.

"I know" his hand moved to caress my check tenderly "I will always know where you are"

"Then why cant you find me now? Why cant you come to me?" The questions tumbled from my mouth hastily.

"Dont fret we will be together soon trust them, they will bring you to me eventually" his lips once again fell onto mine with the same tenderness they had before. And just as before the kiss woke me up I sat up in the comfortable bed of the guest room with sunlight flooding the place.

I groaned at the clock, 7am, why couldnt that dream last forever. My did it always end when we kissed, surely I was allowed alittle more pleasure even if it's just in my dreams?

I got changed into a simple summer dress and jacket before I headed down stairs. Cass had breakfast on the table and ready to go with a steaming pot of coffee. We ate at the small table in the front room because she said it had the best light at that time off day.

I wasnt complaining because it was right next to the window that faced the barn and I was fascinated watching people come and go.

As we finished up I watched Darian leave the barn and get into a pick up with Grey. "Where are they going?" I asked Cass as I helped clear the table.

"Probably to recieve the report from last nights patrol" she guessed "nothing ever really happens on patrol but Alex takes his job very seriously, makes sure to give Darian a report every morning"

I was starting to get the impression that no body knocked before entering this house as the door opened and closed and Howler entered the room bringing with him his usually charming smile and playful aura.

"There are my two gorgeous ladies" he kissed Cass on the cheek and stole a left over slice of toast from the table.

"He always lays it on thick" Cass informed me as she picked up the tea set we'd used for coffee. "What do you want pup?"

He winked at me before shooting her a cheeky smile "pup?" He feigned outrage "I am offended!"

Cass chuckled and headed away towards the kitchen.

"Right sunshine!" He turned to me "I'm under strict orders from the old man himself to be your escort for the day" he announced happily.

"And where exactly will you be escorting me?" I crossed my arms over my chest.

"To town" he explained "I believe you probably need to pick up some new clothes and lady things?"

I eyes him suspiciously "lady things?"
