January 16, 2021, ~Week 45~ Day 312
Solitary Saturday!
Have you ever had one of these days that you wish you could have a do-over? Just like when you were a kid playing a game and making up the rules as you go?
Well, the past forty-eight hours have switched my perspective. It has gone from what's wrong in my life to what is right in my life.
It started on Thursday evening. First, my toilet flooded the bathroom as my dog starts barking to go outside.
Next, by the time I try to help her, it is too late. She wets the rug, as I clean up her mess, I burn my dinner!
Friday soon rolls around with its irritating prospects since the main bathroom becomes a bust; No plumber until Saturday morning. All-day, I am at the mercy of using other family member's bathroom. The lack of personal space wears on our nerves.
Saturday now finds me self isolating in a backroom due to the plumber's visit.
By mid-morning, my perspective takes a 360 when my friend Monica texts read that her ninety-one-year-old mother-in-law, Margaret, is about to go into surgery to have her leg amputated from a gangrene infection. I answer her request for prayers as my heart goes out to her and her family.
I realize my troubles seem to pale in the light of her text, and my view on my life turns from counting my problems to counting my blessings.
