The tracks were silent, not a noise came from anywhere like a Christmas night, not a noise anywhere. Suddenly with a blare of a whistle and a bright light as well as a loud wheesh of steam, a large engine shot down the dark rails, breaking the silence. "Come on 2! We need to go now!" Cried an old Utility Van as they shot down the tracks "I am going as fast as I can!" The engine cried out as his wheels shook the rails, pistons thundering. They could hear the clanking and groaning of factories, the buzzing, and whirling of so-called engines of the future, but he couldn't stop, he had to stop, but he couldn't, their lives depended on it. His wheels spun faster and faster, his boiler bubbled as his side rods became blurs in the dark moonlight, steam surging out of his funnel like an army charging into battle. 2 never felt this much wind in his face before, not only was he going full speed, but the wind was also now blowing against him. His crew kept his fire hot and his water flowing but 2 knew he was getting low, and the sun was starting to climb, he had to be quick. Switching onto a nearby track which his fireman used to work as a signalman, he shot up into the mountains, wheels only slowing down when he reached an abandoned station and yard, his crew quickly jumped down and hide the entrance before running back and putting out his fire, 2 happily started to cool down, his wheels feeling red hot. "From what I know" his fireman started "there should be coal in the hopper, it's a covered one, so while the coal will be old it will still do the trick." He said before rubbing his beard. "Is there anywhere I can fill up with water? My tender is low" 2 said worriedly and his fireman nods "yes there is, and if we are lucky we can store some in the Utility Van, like in canisters and such, and extra coal will do nicely" his fireman said with a grin and 2 looked up at the sky. "Just cool down and wait, we will head out again at night," his driver said and 2 sighed before puffing into the darkness of a nearby shed, and the entrance was hidden...him and the van alongside.

Oliver woke up with a yawn, despite the dewy weather, he was in a rather happy mood, he had been freshly painted and his worn-out parts repaired, he was ready for work. Duck had already left for some freight runs and the twins were helping on the mainline, leaving Oliver by himself, which he didn't mind in all honesty, but he was getting impatient with waiting for his crew. When they finally arrived Oliver gave him the look and his driver rolled his eyes "I was visiting my wife at the hospital, Dane drove me" he said already knowing what Oliver was about to say and the green engine shut up right there. "Oh yes dearly sorry," Oliver said and his crew laugh as they climb in "so the usual jobs huh?" Oliver asked and his crew nod as they puffed away to fetch his coaches. The day was quite peaceful, the warm sun kept Oliver nice and happy, they had no issues with anything all the signals were green, all the points were set, everything went as smoothly as possible even the wind was with them. Oliver puffed up and down the branch line, taking passengers to and from stations, and even helped deliver some trucks of freight which went along quietly for..obvious reasons. As Oliver moved along he heard some of the trucks chattering as they rolled onto the mainline to deliver some goods, this interested him. "What are you lot talking about?" Oliver asked and the trucks gulp "oh nothing Oliver" "don't worry you can tell me, I won't damage any of ya" Oliver promised and the trucks gave each other nervous glances. "We were talking about a place called Barry's Scrapyard," one of the salt wagons said, Oliver, felt his boiler grow cold when he heard that word. "Oh...oh dear," Oliver said and the van gulped "we heard rumors that a steam engine and a truck of some kind that was supposed to go there escaped, they are currently hunting for it," the truck said and Oliver let out a long sigh. "What kinda engine is it?" Oliver asked and they think for a moment "from what we heard, a BR Standard 2, and he is in really good shape apparently" "that is both a good and bad thing" Oliver said with a sigh. "That means he has less of a chance of breaking down while escaping, but that also means that they will be looking for him harder, because in that state he worth a lot of scrap money" Oliver explained, and the trucks looked down sad. "The only reason I escaped was that I am smaller and lighter, I could take me and toad as well as our auto coach could go anywhere, any old line to hide with the help of my crew...the only reason we were caught was due to me being low on fuel" Oliver sighed and the trucks look at him sadly. "An engine of his size could be at a bigger risk due to the amount of money he is worth and he can't go on every line and he would need more fuel," he said and glanced at the water where boats were sailing around the island. "I just wish I could help" little did Oliver know he would have the chance to. When he returned to his shed that night the fat controller walked up to him with a grin "Oliver, I have a special job for you tomorrow, you will be taking a special passenger train to Barry Island, the passengers personally requested you to take them, be ready for tomorrow dear engine" he said and walked away. Oliver grinned proudly and Donald glanced at him "Ye dae ken that's whaur barry scrapyard is, richt?" He asked and Oliver went wide-eyed and glanced at him "really?" "Aye, that is likelie how come thay wanted ye" "that's...odd…" Oliver gulped before the others fell asleep, Oliver kept thinking...and thinking, his eyes starting to get heavy and before he knew it...he was asleep.
