(Age 8)

After you and your dad left, it was time to go back to the castle, we walked in an uncomfortable silence. Irritation radiated off of both Mitsuki and Katsuki, but for two entirely different reasons, and as for me, I...I didn't know what I was feeling... Yeah I feel upset, but another part of me feels...empty..? I dunno why, its probably because you're gone to be honest.

Our uncomfortable silence was broken by Katsuki, who was seething, "Old hag, who the hell was that guy?!"

Mitsuki smacked Katsuki upside the head, "Don't talk to your mother that way! I brought you into this world and I can easily take you out of it!" Mitsuki then sighed, "That was the King of the dragon tribes, who we've already been on thin ice with them, which is now thinner thanks to you brat."

Katsuki scoffed, "I don't see what was so big of a deal, I just wanted another dragon, jeez."

Mitsuki rubbed her temple, "For the love-Alright I'm going to tell you a story, the history between us and the Dragon Tribes, so listen closely you little shit and you too Eijirou."

By this time we were back at the castle so we went and followed Mitsuki to the library where she pulled out a book and sat down in a chair, where Katsuki and I sat on the rug in front of it.

She opened the book and flipped to a certain page, then began to speak,

~Story~

When our Kingdom had just started out, everything was peaceful, we had all you could ever ask for, food, clean water, things like that. But then one day, a great disaster struck, a plague that spread rapidly and could easily kill at least a hundred of people a week. Everyone tried and tried, from traditional medicines to magical cures, it was said that the plague had no cure and if there was one, no one knew what it was.

But you see, the king was stubborn, he wasn't going to sit down and just let his people die and kingdom fall before his very eyes. So he ordered for fortune-teller to come and hopefully be able to tell him that he would be able to do something. So a few days later, his knights came with a fortune-teller who heeded from a different kingdom, and after asking about a cure, she told him that there was one.

But this cure was in the forest that was just outside the kingdom, the only problem was that this forest was dangerous, whoever went into the forest never came back, so it was nicknamed, 'The Forest of No Return.' Which I think is super cliché-but going back to the story, this left them in a predicament, they didn't have the resources in order for a regime of knights to go and find the cure, because all of the resources were used in order to help the people.

So the king made a huge decision, he would go into the forest by himself, his advisors told him that he shouldn't do that, but stubbornness runs in our family and this guy was definitely one of the most stubborn out of us all, so the king ignored their warning and packed for a trip into the forest. The next day the king set out on his quest onto finding a cure for his people, after about a half a day riding he arrived outside the forest. The king only had resources that would allow him to be in the forest for three days, so he knew he'd have to make his trip quick. The king then entered the forest and on the first day, no luck, the second day, no luck, but on his final day, he found something that no one's ever seen before, a dragon.

Dragons were something of legend back then, so imagine the king's surprise when he found that! But something was wrong with said dragon, it seemed as if it were injured, and the king knew that he only had a limited amount of resources, but something told him that he should help the dragon. So he did, little did the king know that he had just helped the child of one of the high ranking Dragon Tribes,-which was a pretty big deal-after being cared for the dragon then made the king follow it deeper in the forest.
