Chapter 2

Annabeth's POV

We walk around with our weapons out, ready for any monster attacks. This was clearly different from any place I had been as I did not recognise a single building or person there. When we see the first mortal they stare at us weirdly with fear in their eyes. It's as if...

"Guys do you think that the mist still works here?" I suggest.

"I don't know let's ask" Leo says. Oh no...

"Excuse me?" Leo asks a random mortal girl with brown hair and blue eyes.

"EEEKK!!!!" She sprints away as fast as humanly possible after taking a second to look at my dagger as if trying to comprehend whether it was real or she was seeing things.

"Well I guess there's our answer" I say. Percy swings his arm around my shoulders pulling me close to him. I look up at him and he says:

"Might as well look around and try to figure out where we are WITHOUT our weapons visible to the mortals"

"Ugh I'm tireeeed" Leo whines.

"We should find some shelter and take a break for the night" Reyna advises.

We all nod in agreement and start looking around for any place that's suitable to stay for the night.

After a while of searching Calypso says from up a hill, "How about here?" pointing to a large cave that should be just big enough for 13 demigods to stay in.

"looks ok" Hazel replies. We all gather around and start setting up a small fire and gathering materials that could be useful for keeping safe and sleeping. 

Once we are all set up and are ready to go to bed I snuggle up to Percy.

"Hey wise girl" he whispers.

"Hi." 

"We really can't get a break can we?" he asks.

"I guess not."

"We'd think that after surviving the darkest place in the whole entire universe and saving the world twice, once from actual Mother Earth and once from an evil titan who wanted to destroy the gods and take over, we would get some rest to settle down together." he says. At the time the thought of settling down with Percy at new Rome college with a small apartment sounded blissful, but now it felt as far away as the first time we thought of it in the stables on the argo 2.

"Well, at least we're together right?" This situation was definitely 100% times better then when Percy had gone missing. I had gone crazy looking for him and I don't think I could survive another week without knowing where he was or knowing whether he was safe or not.

"I guess" he mumbled. We both then fell into a deep not-so-peaceful sleep.

I woke up to Percy screaming and trashing at what seemed like 4 or 5am in the morning. Soon after I awoke, before I could even rub the sleep out of my eyes everyone was awake too staring at Percy.

"Shhhhhh, Percy calm down I'm right here, I'm right here." I hear Percy whimper. Slowly but surely he starts to calm down and I place his head on my lap.

"What happened Perce?" I ask softly.

"He-He killed you wise girl. T-Tartarus killed you!" Silent tears stream down Percy's face and I can feel the burn of everyone's eyes on my back.

"Look at me Percy. I'm right here aren't I? I'm still here and I don't plan on leaving. I love you" That seems to calm him down completely and he gives me a weak smile.

"I love you too wise girl"

"Hey I heard screaming is everything okay in here?" I look up to see a blond-haired girl in a blue suit and with a red cape...
