4:00 AMJack pulls me by my hand.
"Ok Y/n." Jack said. "Get on this."
It was a wooden door.
"Get on Y/n."
I attempted getting on. My body was so stiff it was hard.
Jack helped me up onto the door. He tried getting on too. It wouldn't work.
"Wait." I said.
I took off my life belt and wrapped it around the door.
"It should stay afloat now." I smiled, weakly.
"God Y/n. You're such a genius." Jack kisses me on the cheek.
He helped me get onto the door again. He attempted getting on to. We lay on the door together.
His arms wrapped around me.
He squeezed the water out of my coat. He wrapped it around my legs.
I wrapped my arms around him.
"I love you Jack."
He looked at me.
"No... don't say your good-byes, Y/n. Don't you give up. Don't do it." Jack trembled.
"Jack... I'm so cold."
"You're going to get out of this... you're going to go on and you're going to make babies and watch them grow and you're going to die an old lady, warm in your bed. Not here. Not this night. Do you understand me?"
"Yes."
"Y/n. Listen to me. Winning that ticket was the best thing that's ever happened to me. It brought me to you."
Jack was having trouble speaking. Gasping in air.
"You must do me this honor... promise me you will survive... that you will never give up... no matter what happens... no matter how hopeless... promise me now, and never let go of that promise." Jack said, stuttering.
"I-I promise." I said, shaking.
"Never let go."
"I'll never let go Jack."
Jack and I lie beside each other. In each other's arms. I can feel him shaking.
"J-Jack?"
No response
"Jack?"
"...Y-Yes?..."
"J-Just making sure you're... ok..." I struggled to get words out.
It's been a long time. It's getting really quiet.
I can't speak. My body is so cold. I felt like I was paralyzed.
I looked at the stars.
"Come Josephine.. in my flying machine..." I sang.
"HELLO? IS ANYONE ALIVE OUT THERE?" a man in the distance yelled.
I turned my head. There was a boat. There really was. I didn't think there would be anyone that would rescue us.
I turned my body towards Jack. I held his hand tighter.
"J-Jack."
No response.
"J-Jack..."
No response.
"Jack!" I tried speaking louder.
No response.
I took my hand and felt his stomach with it.
He was breathing. He was taking in air.
The boat was almost gone.
I got off the wooden door. I swam to a nearby man with a whistle. I used all my leftover strength to blow into the whistle.
I looked over at Jack. His eyes opening and closing.
I saw the boat coming closer to us.
