i woke up by the sound of cars driving past and the light of the sun flashing through my curtains. as i got up i yawned and stretched my arms, glancing over my phone to realize duke had texted me on snap. the text read ...

"good morning, i was hoping you'd be down for lunch at chick fil a, if you agree I'll come pick you up at around 12:35. oh and Sj will be there btw"

i thought for a split second before agreeing. i had nothing to do today since it's my lazy day this week, so it only made sense to agree. i sent in my message telling duke i was free. once i got up i glanced at myself in the mirror "god i look terrible". i picked out my outfit for today and hopped in the shower.

~ after the shower ~

once i had brushed my teeth i got dressed and did my hair. i admired myself for a minute much better i thought. i checked my phone to realize that it was 11:45 so i had some time before i had to go. i walked over to the kitchen to grab a quick snack to eat. while i was eating i was cleaning out my notifications cause my phone blew up last night. i made a quick tiktok to an unreleased song by sza. a couple minutes passed after i had posted it, i was thinking about filming another one to post later but i was stoped by the honk of a car and a text from duke telling me hr was here. i quickly gathered my belongings and rushed to dukes car as i didn't want him to wait to long.

Duke : "heyy how are you?"
Y/n : "good good, what about you?"
Duke : "the usual, busy but all around great"
Y/n : "that's good to hear"

we sat in silence. my hair slightly flowing as the air conditioning blows fresh air at us. as we were in traffic the silence started getting louder, i decided to break it by playing some music.

Y/n : "hey could i play some music?"
Duke : "yeah sure play anything you'd like, but if it's yeah by usher I'll beat your ass"
Y/n : "kk" i chuckled at his last words

i plugged my phone into the aux cord shuffling my playlist full of indie alternative songs, preferably the arctic monkeys :) i softly hummed to the music with duke followed along. we were almost at chick fil a but we still needed to pick up Sj from her apartment. a couple minutes passed and we were finally at her apartment building parking lot. we waited around 3 minutes until she came in the car.

Sj : "heyy :D"
Y/n : "damn why you gotta live in downtown la? that took forever"
Sj chuckled "relax i bet it wasn't that bad"

i smiled and went back on my phone. once we got there i ordered the usual which was the spicy chicken sandwich with a side of medium fries. Duke and Sarah ordered what they wanted so we went to sit down and chat to pass by the time . we kept chatting until sj had an idea.
Sj : "hey do you guys wanna go to the compound?"
Y/n : "yeah, I can finally have some good content to post :D"

~ time skip ~

we were at the compound and we all agreed to just have fun and film afterwards.
duke was just standing there smiling while everyone else was having fun.
Y/n : "why are you just standing there"
Duke : "idk thinking of what to post"
Y/n : "but that doesn't explain why you're smiling lol"

Dukes POV
as everyone was having fun yk talking i looked over at y/n. "god y/p perfect"
i didn't realize how long I was admiring y/n until y/p snapped me out of it by saying "why are you just standing there" i quickly made up a lie "idk just thinking of what to post" phew that was close. Y/n : "but that doesn't explain why you're smiling lol" shit, what do i even say to that- uhh quick think of something "how about we start filming before it gets late, yeah?" i said changing the topic. "we still got plenty of time but sure" "well now that that's over" i thought as i walked away with my LV bag to change into my Willy attire.
