The Prihuman Chronicles: Book 1, The Elite 8

Prologue

Hello there. My name is Zack Matrix, and I am a Prihuman....What is a Prihuman? Well let me tell you....

About over 25 years ago, people all around the world started experiencing weird symptoms. These symptoms included , people hearing things, crying out randomly, glowing eyes, and being in constant agony. Usually these symptoms would last about 4 days, but sometimes the pain would go on for even longer. Eventually doctors finally came up with a name for this mysterious disease. Kinetic. Acute. NeuroMutation. Also known as K.A.N. There were very rare occasions where people would die from the symptoms, but it was a 35% chance. After the 4 days were up, people would possess strange kinetic or unworldly abilities. It took a very long time, but after a year of studying people it became clear. Whatever infected these people, it gave them extraordinary abilities. After this "anomaly" was discovered the governments of the world decided to have a meeting. They decided that they should keep this information hidden from the public in order to prevent a world wide panic. However this did not last long, when many unidentified people used their powers for wrong things. There were multiple eyewitnesses who saw what was going on. It soon became clear that this was out of the government's control. The governments were somewhat forced to tell the people about the ongoing nation-wide situation. After hearing the horrifying news people became overwhelmed with fear. This fear led to violent protests and riots and people with abilities were forced to go into hiding. People protested for a cure, they protested for these "creatures'' to be put down. There were thousands of riots all over the world. A lot of these riots were violent and deadly, at one point in Japan an entire skyscraper was burned down because of a riot. These times were referred to as "The Cure Times'' but a lot of people called it the "Dark Times." It took many years but people began to see that not all people with abilities were bad. Riots and protests finally came to an end, and people no longer had to go into hiding. After a while people stopped using the name K.A.N and they started the people with abilities ''Prihumans" or sometimes we would be called "Enhanced." They called us Prihumans because they believed that we were the Prime Humans. Not many people like the name because it makes them feel like they are just plain dirt. However the name is still in place, though people began to wonder about something else...People began to wonder what the power levels of some people were. This has got the attention of numerous scientists and doctors. After a couple months of testing, scientists had officially stated that there were different classes of powers. These classes started out at number 1 and reached all the way up to number 25. Scientists also stated that it is very rare for someone to be more powerful than level 14, but it can be possible. That also means that these people can be incredibly dangerous and a threat to all people. There were multiple occasions where people would be killed by someone using their powers or someone manifesting their powers for the first time. After a while, things went back to the way they were. There weren't many sightings where an 'Prihumans' would be found. There are still some cases but not as many. Though things have died down, scientists are still trying to figure out what caused the disease and if there can be a cure..........

That is the story of how Prihumans were brought into this world. I will now tell you my story of how I became a Prihuman and the journey I went on to save the world multiple times........
