For, as long as I can remember he was always a... quiet child.
Quiet, yet obedient.
Still, there was a pool of resentment
hidden in the depth of his eyes.So I stopped looking his way.
And before I knew it,
that child stopped looking back.

.An alarm blared as men shuffled around trying to find the intruder.
A dark-haired man looks around, the device around his neck ticking. Coughing, he wiped his mouth off the blood and looked around.
Wouldn't it be great if life
had a rewind button.A big tank-like thing stood in the middle of the room, different tubes were coming out of it, with something floating inside.
The man sighs in relief,
"Found you" he murmured coming closer to the glass.A boy was inside, unconscious, the tubes that came out of the machine were all connected to the different devices around his body.
The man leans closer to the glass, feeling weaker from the blood loss."Hold on I'm getting you out"
'Isn't it a bit too late'
The man pants, the thought echoes in his mind as he stares at the boy. He coughed up more blood, his collar ticking and beeping dangerously red.But the thing I regret
most of all...An image of the man holding the young boy flashes in his mind, happiness surrounded them.
The man collapses, his hand to his collar.
Tik...tik...tik...

Birds chirped loudly and happily with the sun blazing brightly in the sky.
Something starts ringing making the same dark-haired man stir in his sleep. He opens his eyes and sits up, confused upon hearing the sound. Looking over to his bedside table he sees his phone to be the culprit of the noise. Taking it into his hands, he begins to inspect it.
'My cellphone... I thought I'd never see this again...' he then looks around.
'This place... this room looks awfully familiar...' his thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door. "Come in" he calls
The door opens to a woman in a maid outfit with brown hair that reaches just above her shoulder, with bright green eyes.
"Master Collins, good morning. Breakfast is ready" she bows.
The man stares at her in disbelief, "Li?"
The woman, Li, snaps her head towards him.
"Yes is something the matter?" she asks. The man looks away in embarrassment, waving her away with his hand.
"No nothing"
Li bows "Then please, pardon me" she walks toward the curtains and opens them, with the man observing her movement. A flashback dawned on him as he continues staring.
"Please live"
It was the same woman, a shard of glass embedded into her neck.
"Hey, Li" the woman turns toward him, "Yes?" she asks
"This may sound strange, but can you tell me today's date? The year included, please."
"Today is October 28th, 20XX sir"
The man stares at the date and time on his phone.
'20XX? That's a 6-year difference... Is this a dream? or maybe a near-death flashback. Although this feels too real to be a dream... Then, time travel?' he turns his head to the side and realizes Li still standing there.
"That's all I wanted to ask. You can go now"
Li bows,
"As you wish sir"
