The Hufflepuff common room was at its loudest. It was late evening and the sun would be going down soon. Most Hufflepuffs had made their way back to the common room to relax. Nick wasn't relaxed. You could hardly hear the scratching of the Potter's quill on parchment over the voices of their housemates but if you looked and if you were stood next to them, you could tell they were in a rush.
Nick was creating copies of notes from class, if you asked those around them you wouldn't find out why. It could be assumed that they wanted and extra copy in case the others were lost or they needed to lend them to somebody in their year but that was not the case. They weren't their notes after all. Nick was copying notes for a 6th year Gryffindor, a student in the year above them. The notes had three different handwritings, anyone who had been there longer than a year would know exactly who they were copying for.
If someone had approached Nicholas, it would have seemed that they had forgotten that they were a witch even though they were copying notes from classes about magic. They hadn't remembered that they could simply duplicate them with a quick spell.
"Potter!" Someone had called from the entrance of the common room, catching the attention of a few students who returned to their business quickly. "Potter is looking for you." They said as they walked towards them.
"Oh, right, thank you." They organised their things and put them away for later. They sped out of the common room and pulled their brother by the arm to where they had always gone once a month.
They met Sirius and Peter behind a tree near a much bigger and extremely dangerous tree, the Whomping Willow. "Bandit, what took you so long that we had to send Prongs to get you?" Sirius whisper shouted at Nick.
"I hadn't finished the notes!" They whispered back. "Besides, Padfoot, the Hufflepuff common room is underground, I couldn't see whether or not the sun was about to go down!"
"Stop quarrelling like a married couple." James interrupted.
"Come on, let's go, already!" Peter squeaked.
A stag, dog, a rat and a polecat had come out from behind the tree. The rat made its way to the Willow and opened a passage through the tree. The group made their way through, eventually ending up in a creaky house.
They had a long night. It was slightly painful for some of them and very tiring for all. It was a good thing this didn't happen every night or they would never survive.

"Potter, you have to get up now or you'll miss breakfast."
Nick heard someone speak softly. They couldn't tell who as they were too exhausted to think properly.
"Potter, come on, it's getting late and you need to eat."
"Please, let me sleep," They mumbled, it was almost too slurred to understand but Nick's roommates were used to it and understood very easily.
"McKinnon and Evans were asking where you were earlier." This seemed to catch their attention. They opened their eyes just enough to see who was talking to them.
"I knew that would work," Adonis Smith, Nick's favourite roommate was looking over them, a very welcoming smile on his face.
"Good, good morning, Smith," Potter replied, their voice still rough from waking up. They were tired but the mention of their friends woke them up some.
"Good morning," Adonis helped his roommate get up and handed them a brush. "You have some time but you may want to be quick." Adonis made his way out of their room, leaving his roommate to prepare themself.
