Life was zero fun with Death Eaters hanging about.
It was bad enough that Cassia had to deal with her own father being detained in Azkaban for Death Eater activity, her best mate's too (although life was plenty more fun without Theodore Nott's dad around) and her other mate's father being possessed by a Death Eater, the new rules and regulations had made it clear that, like, nothing fun was allowed anymore:
Do not leave the house alone. Do not travel much. If you do travel, do so in daylight. Keep your house secure with charms. Keep yourself secure by travelling by Apparition. Keep underage wizards/witches secure with Side-Along Apparition. Keep your identity secure with safety questions. Minimise public gatherings as much as possible. If you see someone acting strange, contact the Ministry. If you see a Dark Mark anywhere, contact the Ministry. If you see Inferi activity, contact the Ministry.
Screw the Ministry at this point.
Not like any of this has helped. The attacks throughout Muggle England say otherwise, as does Cornelius Fudge's resignation. She was surprised herself that he was allowed for even a single day more in his position when Voldemort's reappearance had surfaced, after all his comments of denial throughout that year.
Much hadn't happened since Cassia returned from Germany with her mother and sisters. Harry had returned to Surrey himself and she hadn't seen him since their arrival back to England last week. She supposes it's to do with the extra caution around Harry himself, what with him now being denoted as the Chosen One (Source: The Daily Prophet). The mail she had gotten from him yesterday morning said that Professor Dumbledore had, at long last, picked him up from the Dursley's and taken him to the Weasley family's home. Exam results were due that very day, and they were to return to school in a couple of weeks too.
Oh, yeah. Another bit of fun these little Death Eaters had taken away. The baby shower that Ginny Weasley had invited Cassia and her family to, that of her big brother Charlie and his partner Avery's expected child – was also cancelled.
By now, the Ministry should just take away breathing oxygen.
The little Quidditch club that Daphne had previously hoped to gather couldn't be completely fulfilled. However, it wasn't all that bad. The Donahue family's Floo Network connected to that of the Greengrass's, so Theo and his cousin Sterling Donahue were grand in that sense. Maryam Ahmed's parents had accompanied their daughter to the Greengrass Manor and back the few times she wanted to come over to play Quidditch, and Eva Abercrombie never had any trouble in coming over herself.
