Cedric and I had been dating since second year, we were known as the ' It couple '. We would walk around, hand in hand and sometimes we would make out in the corridors . I was dating the popular boy, known as ' pretty boy Diggory ' so our relationship was put on display, and although i hated the attention i was getting from boys and mostly hate from girls, I didn't care, because i was deeply and utterly in love with Cedric.

This is the part where you expect me to say ' our love was only for display ' or that ' it was all fake ', right ? well that would be wrong. Im in love with him and i couldn't live without him. most lunch times, we would spend together, either with his friends or mine and it was like a fairytale, something you never thought could happen.

Ever since Cedric was chosen for the triwizzard tournament, i have seen him less and less. He was also getting way more attention from the ladies than i wanted, but i'm not a jealous girlfriend. I have been spending a lot more time with my friends, which is why people think ' there is trouble in paradise ' , which is also why there are way more girls around him.

The yule ball had just been announced and I couldn't wait. The thought of having Cedric to myself for a whole evening made me giddy. 

Girls had been asking him to the ball left and right, of course he turned them down, but he hadn't asked me yet. We were just weeks away from the dance and i had no date, my boyfriend hadn't asked me.

I walked through the courtyard with Hermione only to bump into someone. I dropped all my books.

" well, well, well " I knew that voice " Look what the cat dragged in " 

" Malfoy " I replied with a stern look. I picked up all my books and was now facing him

" I heard there has been trouble in paradise " Malfoy said with a winning look " So i take it the it couple wont be attending the dance with one another " 

" There is no trouble in paradise " I replied. I was annoyed, in fact beyond annoyed with this rumour , i was pissed

" you didn't deny the last part did you " He said. He studied my expression, he knew he was right, he knew Cedric hadn't asked me

"Just leave me alone Malfoy , what is it to you anyway ?" 

" Do you want to do to the dance with me ? " He asked. I was shocked. Draco Fucking Malfoy. Slytherin Prince. Bully. Rich boy. Obsessed with his Daddy. Asking ME to the ball? it had to have been a joke

" What ? " i asked genuinely confused

" Leave her alone Malfoy " A voice from behind yelled. At this point, we had a huge crowd of people surrounding us, probably half fo the school, that isn't an exaggeration.

" Wood, Stay out of this " Malfoy spat

" Just leave her alone " Oliver came rushing over to us and stood by my side defending me

" You never answered my question ( Y / N ) " Draco said turning his face to focus on me

i didn't reply, I wanted to say no but i had no great excuse. What if Cedric isn't going to ask me ?

" Malfoy, no one wants you here, do us all a favour and leave us the fuck alone " Oliver shouted towards Malfoy with his sexy Scottish accent

" I'm not going to be your last resort (Y/N), If Cedric hasn't asked you yet, whose saying he will " Malfoy replied. I listened to his words and the just replayed in my head over and over again as if on loop
