Chapter One: You were Hiding from me

"No she's Nathan's"

"How is he allowed to have Custody of a child!" David seethed "well who were they gonna pick the Junkie or the family man" Shona retorted. David and Shona argued back and forth for a bit.
       Bethany walked down the street towards number eight she saw a car coming round the corner that she noticed. She ran to the house and opened the door "DAVID!" She shouted scared.
      Hallie yelled "CAN YOU TWO STO-"
"DAVID!" A scared Bethany entered "Bethany?" He replied "it's his car he's here!" She gabbled "who's car Beth?" He questioned His niece was in a state. "N-n-Nathan's" she retorted "but that's not possible!" David argued then all eyes fell on Hallie "speak." David said "I tried telling you- he's been released on parole! Excuse me mis where abouts was he when you sa-" she was cut off by a knock at the door "it's him, he knows I'm here, I'm dead!" Hallie whispered. David looked at the fear in Hallie's eyes "let her out the back, Run Down the ginnel" he started then handed Hallie £40 "and don't come back." He finished Hallie nodded and Shona showed her to the back door. The banging on the front door had got more consistent. Shona kissed Hallie's Forehead. "I love you darling. Now go,go!" Shona choked and with that Hallie ran.
       As Shona re- entered David opened the front door, there stood an angry Nathan "where is she?" He demanded "look I don't know who your talking about" David replied "she does!" Nathan spoke at Shona "where is she!" He repeated "I don't know! I haven't seen her!" Shona lied "look I've just come to collect what's mine!" He growled "well she isn't here!" Shona repeated "your the first person she would run too." Nathan continued " if she's hiding from me I swear to god!" He yelled "what Nathan! What! She's not stupid she knows what your like!" Shona shouted back and with that the door was slammed in Nathan's Face. Bethany sat crying "Bethany darling I need to ask you a question." Shona pleaded Beth sniffed and nodded "was Hallie there whilst you were" Bethany shook her head "she didn't sleep there but I saw her a lot, she always asked about you- it never made sense until I saw you too together, she's your daughter isn't she?" Bethany replied and Shona nodded.
Hallie ran out of their Garden and down the ginnle she ran round the back of the pub.
    Nathan got in his car Mel was in the passenger seat "she's run from me" he stated and started driving out of the street when he saw a shape running down a back alley "there" Mel pointed. He drove to the exit of them all no-one was there yet. "Stay here incase she tries to escape. The got out of the car and hid against the wall.
        Hallie Kept running she had to make it to the exit. Was someone behind her? She looked she was paying no attention to where she was going until it was too late she spotted the silver car she knew all too well. She stopped and saw Mel she tried to run back but was gripped by arms she knew all too well "my Darling daughter" Nathan seethed and Hallie kicked and struggled "Stop that! STOP IT!" He yelled but that caught people's attention.  Jason came over "can I help? Miss are you okay" he asked Nathan kept Hallie in an iron grip "she's fine- just a little disagreement" he falsely smiled "I'm her dad" he continued and Jason nodded "ah mate I'm sorry"
With that Nathan strapped Hallie into the car "well I must say I was rather disappointed when I found out you weren't at home." Nathan started Hallie just looked at the floor "Thought we could hide from me?" He continued "I wasn't-" Hallie started "you were hiding from me" he finished. Hallie looked outside the window as they passed number eight "your mine, your mum. Can't save you now!" Nathan taunted.
