Beep, Beep, Beep.
I groan into my pillow as my alarm blares lovingly into my eardrums forcing me awake. Practically suffocating myself into my pillow, I allow myself to relax into the pillow really contemplating how important school really is to me.
Until my brother decides to bang the shit out of my door.
"Charlotte wake your ass up! We are going to be late for school and I have practice this afternoon so I won't be able to bring you home." I go to respond in irritation until my mom does it for me. "Blake Weston Andrews don't cuss at your sister young man!" I giggle into my pillow at my mom defending me, despite my brother being 18 and perfectly able to hold his own, we were raised right and he knows better than to disrespect his momma. "Sorry mom, sorry Char." Deciding its time for me to get up I throw the covers off my body and trudge into my bathroom.
Staring in the mirror, its hard not to cringe at the monstrosity staring back at me. Choosing to go the easiest route, I hop in the steaming hot shower allowing it to unroll any pent up tension I may be feeling.
Getting out almost as quickly as I get in, I snatch the towel from its rack and dry my body off and quickly yang on my black skinny jeans and blue tank top. I pair it with a jean jacket and my chucks before running down the stairs to see my brother scowling with his backpack strung over his shoulder.
"Don't look at me like that Blake, I'm sorry I wasn't quick getting ready this morning." He gives me a sideways glare but I can see a hint of a smile on his lips that he's trying to hide. "Just hurry up so we can go Carson is driving us today." My mom leans over the counter and hands me a bagel with some cream cheese on it, my favorite, I use that to hide the grimace on my face that my brother's best friend is once again giving us a ride. Really don't see why Blake has a car when he never uses it.
Guess I don't do too great of a job at hiding my displeasure as Blake calls me out.
"Oh c'mon Char he's not that bad. You used to have the biggest crush on him when we were younger." Yeah "used to" being the key word. When we were in middle school Carson Knight used to be the guy that filled every single one of my dreams. His green eyes, like orbs, could catch any girl off guard if they weren't careful. He grew up with my brother and I and me being a year younger, I always felt like their side kick instead. They never made me feel like that though.
Blake has always been really careful with my feelings, though we get on each others nerves sometimes, he's definitely the best big brother any girl could ask for. Carson to took up that role, as big brother and let me tell you, sometimes the two of them take it way too seriously. Especially Carson. I've never dated because every guy thats ever gotten close to me, has either received the third degree from the boys or Carson has scared them off with his death glare.
"Who's not that bad?" I don't even have to look up to know Carson Knight has just stepped foot into the room. His voice alone still sends shivers down my spine. Okay, maybe the crush hasn't completely gone away. "Oh you know just your annoying ass." I give him a grimace letting him know my distaste and he just responds with his award winning smirk.
"Okay enough chit chat Carson we need to head out we have to talk to coach before class starts." Nodding in agreement Carson leads the way back towards his car and we throw out a "bye mom" racing towards Carson's BMW.
Settling myself in the back seat as the boys settle in the front, Blake as always takes up the stereo finding tunes we'll all like. After a few minutes he settles on Rascal Flats life is a highway and with the windows rolled down we take off towards our high school.
I tap my fingers along the side of the door, using the drive to space out and open my mind to so many things. Letting my eyes wander I take a quick peek at the front seat. My eyes catch Carson's looking at me in the rear view mirror, I swear I see a hint of a smile on his lips, but its gone before I really register it. Taking a peak at Blake I see he's staring contently at his phone not even paying attention to anything around him. My cheeks still flaring red because Carson caught me I turn my attention back to the window for the rest of the ride.
