Mrs. Marks came in shortly after and introduced herself and the syllabus to the class, she then began handing out the first day packets.

"Okay ladies and gentleman if anyone has any questions before I let you know how partners work feel free to ask." Fully understanding everything I was reading I waited for her to continue and so did everyone else.

"Alrighty then, if no one has any questions then I would like you to turn to your right if you are sitting closest to the chalkboard and to your left if you are sitting closest to the dry erase board. In other words your partner for the year is whoever your share your desk with at this point There will be no switching or trading so I hope you chose your seats wisely.

No, no, no this can't be happening Carson Knight is not my partner for the entire year. Oh god Theresa and the rest of the schools female population are going to eat me alive.

Looking over at Carson he is flashing his sexy grin at me almost as if he knew this would happen if he sat next to me. I swear he likes to torment me for no particular reason at all.

"Whelp." He says rubbing his hands over his thighs. I raise my eyebrow at it knowing its one of his nervous ticks. What could he possibly have to be nervous about. "It looks like we are going to be partners this year," I roll my eyes as he states the obvious. "I promise it won't be as bad as the scenarios playing around in your head. I won't let Theresa antagonize you either, so breathe." Looking at him shocked that he would know thats one of my biggest worries I give him a look of confusion. How did he know Theresa was so vicious to me, and how would he be bale to prevent it.

She's completely obsessed with him and thinks I of all people will steal him away. Little does she know he would never in a million years look at me that way. I've hid my feelings from Carson for this long and I know for a fact he doesn't reciprocate them so she doesn't need to worry.

"I know that she is horrible to you. I also know that a lot of thats my fault because I won't go out with her, nor will I give her the time of day. She thinks when she see's me hanging around you all the time that since I hang out with you then she should have no problem. What she fails to realize is your Blake's little sister, therefore you're my little sister and I would never let anyone hurt you."

Every part of me wants to ask questions or just say something to respond to what I'm sure was meant to be a sweet comment, instead I choose to ignore what he said and focus on Mrs. Marks for the rest of class. Once again I'm having to do my absolute best to ignore every attempt he's making to converse with me. Shoving each paper he passes my way back in for to him, I open my notebook and start jotting stuff down hoping it'll force him to leave me alone.

It isn't until the bell rings and I jump out of my seat that a hand on my arm prevents me from sprinting down the hallway.

Coming face to face with him, Carson looks into my hazel eyes with his green orbs forcing me to get lost in them. "Look Lotte, I know you're pissed because we are partners, but please try to be a little optimistic and open minded. I promise I'm not that bad." I could see how genuine he was by the look in his eyes, the trance I was in had me nodding in understanding before I could get the words out. It must've been enough for him, since he released his hold on my arm forcing the once bit of warmth from his hands to disappear from my arm.

Not wanting to ponder about it I walked to my locker and exchanged books, when the door suddenly slammed shut. Theresa's face filled with anger came into sight and my heart and pulse rate escalated. I've never been good with confrontation. Being Blake Andrew's sister forced me into the spotlight a lot more often than I care to be.This was another one of those times, I just wanted to shrink back into the darkness away from prying eyes.

"Listen here mini Andrew's," Theresa all but spit in my face as she spoke. "I don't know what your idea with Carson is, but I've said it once, so I'll only say it one more time. He's mine." She slams her hand against my locker causing me to jump in fear. "Stay the hell away from him or I'll make you pay." Jutting a finger at me she doesn't even wait for a response before stalking off down the hall with her side kicks.

Placing my back against my locker, trying to get my heart rate back to normal and hide the embarrassment on my face, I take a deep breath and Rosie appears at my side. "Girl are you okay, I heard what happened. If you need me to stomp her face to the ground I will." A light laugh  escapes my lips at how blunt she is but that only makes me love her more. One think about Rosie, she may be Hispanic but she always defends the people she cares about most. Since 1st grade I've been lucky enough to be one of those people.

Pulling her in for a hug I tried to sniff away the tears that threatened to cloud my vision. Not allowing Theresa that satisfaction, I sucked it up and we walked to our next and favorite class, dance.

Dancing has always been an outlet for me to express my feelings. This year I've decided to  try out for the schools dance team. Its competitive and a great outlet for my emotions.

Rose and I walk into the gym and take our seats on the bleachers while we wait for everyone else. Coach walks in and everyone takes a seat while we wait for instructions. "Good afternoon girls, I'm coach Conway and I'm Lakeview's competitive dance coach. Today will be the start of tryouts each day will get more competitive until Saturday, when the team list will be announced.   We all nod in acknowledgment and she directs us to the locker room to get ready.

Nerves begin to creep in as I pull on my spanks and sports bra. This is so exciting and nerve wracking, I just want to make the team. Pulling my hair into a pony tail I hear giggles approach and before I know it I'm surrounded by Theresa and her side kicks.

"Hi mini Andrew's just thought I'd wish Blake's little sister good luck on your tryouts." Then she leans into my personal space and whispers into my ear "Break a leg" and saunters off. "What the heck did she want?" Rosie grind out in her bitchy voice. One thing I never want is to be on her bad side, she can be scary. "To wish me luck, or rather non luck." Shaking her head she grabs my hand and pulls me back to the gym while whispering "lets kick some ass."

Walking into the gym we all stand in a line as we wait to be called for auditions. One by one girls come up to the center and the music starts playing. About halfway through , the football team makes their way in from practice. I don't even notice Blake and Carson take seats along the bleachers, along with some of their friends until its my turn.

"Up next Charlotte Andrews," clapping and whistles can be heard on the otherside. I peak over to see my brother clapping along with Carson and smiling, while their friends hoot and holler. Yeah, thats not nerve wracking at all.

Taking a deep breath the music begins and I start my routine and I take a few leaps, do big flips and end in a  front split. Cheers erupt all around me and I get up and take a bow. Resuming my spot in line, Rosie is up next and I cheer her on.

Once Rosie is finished up we gather our belongings and as we get out of the gym, I look over to see Theresa and her side kicks clinging to Carson and Blake, giggling like little school girls. Rollin g my eyes and walking over to them, Carson immediately notices me and practically throws Theresa off of him. Shocked at his actions, I turn to Blake and see him smirking at Carson, like he knows something I don't.

"Lotte you did great at auditions today." Normally I hate that nickname, but right now, hearing him say that makes a warm feeling appear in my stomach. "Thank you Carson, I appreciate that." His attention didn't stay on me long, Theresa pretty much jumped on him as she asked, "Carson how'd my try out look wasn't it amazing?" She screamed as she spoked making him wince and nod. He grimaced as he gently told her "it was great."

Shrugging away from them I turned to Blake who had his shoved tongue down one of the girls throats. Averting my eyes I looked over to see Rosie, who was staring at Blake as well, with a sad look in her eyes. Not quite understanding why she looked sad I spoke. "Hey Rosie, you want to head to my house I've been assigned homework?" Nodding, without saying a word, we left the boys to their own devices and headed to Rosie's car.
