A/N: Hey! So this is my first fan fiction so sorry if it isn't very good. I decided that if a character changes outfit during a chapter then I'll probably post a picture of it like I have for this chapter. So even though no one will probably read this, here's the story.
"Get up and get dressed, there are people wanting to adopt!"
Aria sighed as Bethany banged on her door. She waited until she heard her heels clicking away from her door before rising from her bed where she had been scrolling through tumblr. She quickly threw off her oversized baseball shirt and grey shorts (the summer heat always felt hotter to her) and pulled on a grey dress with a white collar.
At Miss Irvine's Care Home for Girls, when people came to adopt and you were called down to meet them you had to dress up smart - either a dress or a shirt and skirt. Repulsed by the original hot pink with bright yellow hearts dress Miss Irvine had bought her, Aria had saved up her money to buy the grey dress she found herself wearing often in the hot weather.
Aria had ended up in the orphanage when her mum had died. She had been 10 when it had happened and had been due to cancer. Aria's dad became depressed and neighbours started to realise he was in no fit state to look after his child. After talking to some of the neighbours, he too realised this and sent Aria to the orphanage she was in now.Quickly arranging her hair in a messy bun and applying the only makeup she owned (nude pink lipstick, natural eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara) she slipped on her mint green converses, frowned at her spots clearly visible on her face and slipped her white headphones. She started to listen to Becky CJ's 'The State I'm In' as she left her room and descended the stairs.
She slipped into the large room they always went into when someone came to adopt; large bookcases lined one wall filled with books that were never touched, a mixture of armchairs, coffee tables and house plants lined another and at either end of the room stood large, double mahogany doors, the one that Aria just came through and the one that leads to Miss Irvine's office.
The empty space in the middle was filled with chattering girls. Aria lowered her music just enough to hear what was going on but kept it loud enough to let it distract her.
After a while of waiting, Miss Irvine came out of her office to address us all. I quickly slipped off my headphones.
"Now, I expect a few if you may recognise the people coming to adopt today after hearing about their jobs. However I expect you all to be on your best behaviour. And Bethany, I will do all I can to persuade them to adopt you. I'm sure you'll appreciate that when you see who they are." She give Bethany a smile which looks oddly out of place on her wrinkled face and disappeared back into her office.
Miss Irvine love Bethany and Bethany's friends, but she definitely loved Bethany the most. Bethany was the kind of girl who caked on way too much makeup, used about 50 different hair products at a time and always reeked off some expensive perfume. Today, her long blonde hair was perfectly curled and pinned bad off her face, covered in silver glitter. She had a thick layer if makeup and glitter painted on her face and wore a pale pink collared blouse with a black skater skirt.
Miss Irvine came back into the room followed by two people. But these weren't just any two people. No. Miss Irvine was right. She did recognise them. For years she had been watching them through a screen, had been looking up to them and basing her choices and what they would do. The were her idols.
They were Zoe Sugg and Alfie Deyes.
It took all the will power Aria possessed not to have a fan girl moment. Instead she bit hard on her lip and let her excitement explode inside her.
Zoe, or Zoella, looked as beautiful as ever in a black and white Aztec print crop top and pale blue skinny jeans. Her black shoes were exactly the kind Aria had been looking for and she held a large black bag in the hand. Her ombré hair was tied back in a messy ponytail and her expertly done makeup was made up of smokey eyes, black eyeliner, long lashes and plum coloured lips,
Alfie, or pointlessblog, looked more casual in a simple untucked grey T-shirt and black jeans with black and white canvas shoes.
"For those of you who don't know, this is Mr Alfie Deyes and Miss Zoe Sugg. They are both youtubers, which is why I expected some of you would recognise them. She then took them down the line, introducing them to each of the girls. They were meant to say something polite like 'hello, nice to meet you' or something. When they got to Bethany, Miss Irvine says, "Ah yes, this is Bethany. She is exactly the girl you to described and I think she would be perfect for you two." They exchanged hellos and then continued down the line.
When it got to Aria, Miss Irvine gave her a cold look and then said, "This is Aria. She's quite a handful. I wouldn't recommend her, especially if this is your first time raising a child."
Zoe ignored her and gave Aria a smile.
"Hello!" She said cheerfully as Aria tried to keep her inner fan girl under control. It turned out she was loosing the fight.
"I love your videos!" She squeaked, "And your shoes!"
Aria mentally slapped herself, there went her chance to her adopted by her two biggest idols, if she even had one.
"Yours too Alfie." She suddenly added, her voice much less squeakier yet still not normal.
"What, my shoes?" He grinned.
"No, your videos!" She laughed, starting to feel more relaxed yet still completely in fan girl mode, "But I like your shoes too." She added as an after thought. Alfie laughed.
"I'm glad you do."
"Like you videos?"
"Let's not start this again!"
They all laughed except Miss Irvine who looked as if she had swallowed something very sour. She ushered them away but Zoe had enough time to say a quick Thankyou and Aria was left standing feeling both over whelmed and very happy at the same time.
