Denki shook his nerves away as he stared at Y/n's door, "It'll be like hanging out in Mina's dorm just chill out."

I hear a knock at my door and move my head up from my pillow, "It's open." The door opens and I turn to see Kaminari looking around my room with a soft smile on his face. He spots my Pikachu stuffed animal on my bed next to me and his eyes light up, "I have one too!"

He throws himself into my chair next to my desk and spins around to face me, "So, bad dreams again?" He glances around my room a bit more and I sigh, "Yeah, some stuff about my parents." Golden eyes meet mine sadly, "Do you miss them?" I laugh softly, "I mean not really. They didn't raise me so." His face changes to one of panic, "Oh. I'm sorry I just thought." I shake my head and wave it off, "You're fine Kaminari."

He closes his mouth and gives me an apologetic look then he smiles, "What'll help you get your mind off those dreams?" I think for a moment before jumping off the bed, "Alright Kami, let's bake!" He tilts his head up at me, "Oh hell yeah!" I throw a sweatshirt over my pajamas and we begin the walk down to the kitchen.

"Will you see if there's chocolate chips?" He reaches up to a cabinet and peeks back around the door with a bag in his hand, "Found some!" I bounce slightly as I grab the rest of the ingredients, "I'm surprised you guys actually have everything for chocolate chip cookies."

I hum as I begin to mix everything together and Kaminari peeks over my shoulder. I give him a look and he smiles nervously, "Could I try some of the cookie dough?" I roll my eyes but,  grab a spoon for him and scoop some out.

His eyes light up as he grabs the spoon and shoves it in his mouth, "Vis is dewicious." I shake my head at him, "Thank you, family recipe."

We scoop the dough out onto cookie sheets and I hop on the counter while they bake. Golden eyes look at me and I can tell he wants to ask me something, "What do you want to know?"

He looks at me stunned for a moment but sighs, "Why did your parents end not raising you?" I figured he'd ask that but it was still baffling to hear it. I fidget with my fingers and sigh, "I haven't told anyone this in years because, when ever someone finds out they get scared to be around me." I stare down at my hands before taking a deep breath and lifting my head, "So, please don't let this change how you think about me." He nods slowly and I try to calm myself.

I begin speaking, my voice shaking slightly, "Well, when I was four I manifested my quirk, completely normal. However, I couldn't control it very well and one day my Dad was just playing with me and I went to try to push him away but ended up shocking him really badly. To add to it that was also the first time I short circuited. We both got taken to the hospital and once I recovered the doctors advised I should wear quirk canceling gloves most of the time. I remember being terrified of myself and hating my quirk for hurting my Dad and causing my Mom to be scared of me."

I looked down at my hands and felt them tremble slightly, "I remember taking my gloves off at night and trying to learn how to control my quirk so I would never hurt anyone ever again. My parents were scared of me though, scared of their own daughter who was just as scared of herself and now alone. They eventually decided to call my Grandma so I would live with her for awhile. I was barely five when they dropped me off with her. That was the last time I ever saw them." I feel my shoulders fall and am too nervous to meet Kaminari's eyes.

Denki felt his heart drop, "Her own parents left her? At five years old?!" His hand goes to reach out to her and his mouth open but he's cut off.

I hear the timer go off and hop off the counter to grab the cookies out. As I place them on the stove top to cool I finally look at Kaminari and feel my anxiety kick in. He looks so confused and a bit startled, "Kaminari?"

His eyes meet mine and in a flash he pulls me into a hug, "I'm so sorry they did that." I tense at the hug but wrap my arms around his back, "You're not scary. I didn't have control of my quirk for a long time too. A lot of kids didn't want to be my friend." My mind is baffled by that, "Someone not want to be friends with you?" He nods, "Since coming to UA these are pretty much my first friends." I grip his shirt tightly, "Well, I can already tell they missed out on someone pretty cool."

We pull away from the hug and as his warmth leaves my body I have to hold back from reaching out to him for another hug. He laughs and rubs his neck, "Thanks Y/n, and thank you for trusting me. It's safe with me. Scout's honor." He puts his hand up holding his ring, middle, and pointer finger together and I laugh softly, "Thank you Kami."

His eyes drift over to the stove top and I watch his mouth hang open slightly. He looks back over to me asking for permission almost like a child and I nod, "Yeah, you can have one. Grab me one too and I'll grab us milk." He practically bounds over to the cookies as I grab us each a small glass of milk.

We begin eating our cookies and he lets out a soft hum, before giving me a thumbs up. I smile and shake my head softly, "What a dork."

We cleaned up the kitchen and put the cookies in a cookie jar before beginning to head back up to our dorms. We made it to his floor and I turned to him, "You don't have to walk me all the way back since you're the floor below me." He shakes his head and continues walking up the stairs, "I want to walk you back." I sigh and smile while following him up to the next floor.

He stops outside of my door and I stop next to it, "Thank you. This really helped get my mind off of things and it felt good to finally tell someone what I do remember about my parents. Even if it's pretty much all bad." He nods and steps aside so I can open my door, "Anytime you can't sleep, I would love to bake with you again." He smiles and I open my door, "Goodnight Kaminari." He waves as I begin to close my door, "Goodnight!"

The door clicks shut and I yawn softly before glancing at the clock, seeing it's almost 1. I stretch before throwing my sweatshirt off and onto my chair. My body falls on my bed and I curl up in my bed sheets. Exhaustion creeps in and I feel my mind at ease. I mentally thank Kaminari again as I slip to sleep.
