Fashion show week. To keep it brief, Grace had been put in charge of organizing a charity fashion show for the college to raise money for the blind. It was clear that Mini wasn't thrilled about Grace being in charge; Mini had always wanted that role for herself, plain and simple. Professor Blood was joining us for the committee meeting to review our progress today. "Right," he said, leaning forward, "Let's dive straight in."
Grace stood up, followed by Mini. "With just two weeks to go until our charity fashion show, Gracie is finally ready to reveal her designs, and we are all excited to hear Professor Blood's verdict," Mini announced to the rest of the committee, prompting a round of applause.
Blood nodded in approval. "I've received confirmation that our governors will be attending, so it's crucial that this show showcases the college's creative and technical abilities... Over to you, Grace," he said, gesturing towards her before placing his clipboard on his lap.
Grace took a deep breath. "Uh, slight hiccup," she said nervously, glancing around the room.
"Gracie?" Mini raised an eyebrow, noticing the absence of the outfits. "Where are the outfits?"
Before Grace could respond, the door flew open, and a rack of clothes was wheeled in, with Franky popping out from behind it. "Sorry about the lateness," she said, smoothing out her own outfit and standing next to Grace.
Mini's gaze sharpened on Franky, clearly frustrated by her presence. "Franky? This is, um, a committee-only meeting," she said, trying to usher her out.
Grace clasped her hands together, smiling. "Actually, Mins. Franky's been a lifesaver! I couldn't have done it without her, and she'll be great with the music. She should totally join us!"
I exhaled, shrugging. "We didn't realize you two were... Well, still friends?" Mini nodded in agreement as I said this. "That's excellent, really."
Franky then looked over at me and Mini. "Really?"'
"Honestly! Thanks a million, Franky," I said, my tone perhaps a touch sarcastic, though there was a hint of sincerity behind it.
Professor Blood cleared his throat awkwardly, clearly eager to move on with the meeting. "Why don't you girls show us the fruits of your labor."
Grace nodded, retrieving a dress from the rack in front of her and holding it up for everyone to see. "Since we're raising money for the blind, our theme is tactile textures. We've used classic suit and dress patterns with a variety of fabrics that are pleasant to touch, like silk, faux fur, and velvet."
Mini shook her head, a look of disappointment crossing her face. "I knew this was going to happen," she muttered, clearly poised to take over the entire fashion show, sweeping Grace aside--especially since Franky was now involved. "Gracie, those aren't what we discussed," she said, standing up and addressing Professor Blood. "I fear she might be having some sort of personal crisis."
