"After my head has been chopped off, will I still be able to hear, at least for a moment, the sound of my own blood gushing from my neck? That would be the pleasure to end all pleasures."

"This is all, a sick joke."

Wherever I went that week, I found myself jumping at every little thing and I couldn't help but shiver at the thought of someone watching me. Myles had to of been some sick joke from a teenager's basement, but that didn't quite explain his strange knowledge of my every move, or most of them anyways.

In those last few days, I hadn't really talked to anyone, avoiding even the smallest of conversations. It was better that way. It was better that I didn't drag anyone into this mess. Much better.

Monica didn't contact me since we went out last. My guess was that she was still mad about me not telling her why I was acting up. I couldn't really blame her anyways, so I let her be.

I bit my lip, hurrying across the water filled road. That day was rainy. Like, really rainy. Large pellets of water continued to fall on my head as I stopped for a moment on the sidewalk, rummaging through my worn down blue purse. I stomped angrily when I couldn't find it. My phone. Without it, I didn't have a ride home.

Quickly, I stumbled into a tiny donut shop on the edge of the block. Bold lettering boxed the top of the shop building. 'Dannie's Donuts'. "Catchy," I mumbled to myself, pushing through the wooden door to hear a bell from above the door, ding annoyingly.

I sat down at a nearby table, staring out the window glumly.

The tiny building was almost empty, aside from a boy around my age behind the front desk, tapping away at his phone, not sparing me a glance.

Sighing, I let my eyes follow the raindrops maker their way down the window.

Drop, after drop, after drop.

I was going insane.

Suddenly, I felt a tapping on my shoulder. Turning around slowly, I lightly when I saw the boy from the counter standing there.

He had jet black short curly hair and was extremely tall from what I could tell. His firm figure frowning at me.

"Do you want something?" He asked me slowly, hinting he was quite uninterested in me.

I shook my head no. "I'm waiting for the rain to die down," I explained, snapping my attention back to the window.

"Well, genius, the rain's supposed to be hard for at least two days," he grumbled, causing me to roll my eyes and face him again.

"Are you going to leave? Or do you plan on staying and being a bother?" I snapped, glaring at him. He mimicked my eye roll and walked back towards the counter, mumbling something along the lines of, 'whatever'.

I bit my lip as he walked away. I was hungry, I just hadn't realized it until my stomach let out a menacing growl. Silently cursing, I mentally smacked myself for denying the rude strangers offer of food.

It would of looked really retarded if I walked back up to him after our encounter, but the smell of brewing coffee and gingersnap cookies, did smell amazing. My stomach decided to make my decision by grumbling once again.

Lazily, I trudged my way towards the front counter with a twenty dollar bill in my hands. The boy was occupied by his phone once again, not acknowledging my presence.
