Chapter 3

The Exorcist (1973) (Father Merrin)
"He's a liar. The demon is a liar. He will lie to confuse us. But, he will also mix lies with the truth to attack us. The attack is psychological, Damien, and powerful. So don't listen. Remember that, do not listen."

"Dont you think you.. Maybe, overreacted a little?" Dominic mumbled, hiding his hands behind his back and looking down to the ground.

"No," I snarled, "I don't like talking about Kara, I hate her and everything's she's done to me." He held his hands up in surrender, and took a step towards me. Giving him a glare, I sat up in my bed and clenched my fists.

"Lia-- I mean, Julia, " he started, "I know, I'm sorry, if I knew, I wouldn't have nagged you on it." His lips were clenched and I could tell he was trying to stay calm.

Letting out a puff of air, opened my mouth, but then closed it as the door nob twisted open.

Jamie.

"Jila, have you met Dominiminic?" She asked, pouncing towards me and Dominic. I let out a muffled laugh and and smiled at her happily.

"Dominiminic?" I questioned her, tilting my head to the side and sitting up straight. Instantly my head began to throb in pain. Dominic walked to my side, and held his hands out, trying to help me lay back down. Swatting them away, I slowly slid back down, grasping my head.

Jamie raced towards me and looked at me with concern in her eyes.

"Jila, are you ok?"

Am I?

Maybe it was the startled way Jamie had said those four words, the way they slid off her tongue as if she was panicked that got me curious.

"Yes Jamie, why wouldn't I be?" I pondered her, looking towards Dominic, who's facial expression mirrored my confused one.

She looked down at the ground and let out a puff of air.

"Because, Mommy said you only have thr--"

"Jamie! Why don't you go get Julia a glass of water," Dominic suddenly interrupted, changing his face instantly from curiosity to panic. He leaned over my bed frame and smiling at the little concerned five year old. "I'm sure she's just a little light headed."

Jamie nodded, but held a deep frown on her face. As she exited the room, I peered over at Dominic with a troubled thought.

What's going on?

(Dominic)

Dominic had observed Julia during the last few days, he had learned a few bits and pieces about her, but he had a feeling he was no where near solving the complete puzzle. It was almost as if Julia had two different personalities, that's how Dominic viewed it anyways.

She was strange.

One minute she was kind, sweet and acted like any average seventeen year old. The next, she was like a snarling vampire that would snap at one messed up step. Kara had looked at Dominic with a worried look when he asked if he could see Julia.

Letting out a groan, he pushed the door open with neutral look. He let out a smile when he saw the sight in front of him. Julia smiling down at her phone, with her adorable dimples showing clearly.

Dominic wasn't quite sure why Julia had these sudden mood swings, but he noticed that she had a key to her calmer personality.

Jamie.
