Cece grabbed my hand and led me to a spot where it wasn't too crowded. We danced a bit to the music, and after a while we got thirsty, so we went to the bar to get some drinks.

"Hi, can I have a cosmopolitan please?" I asked the bartender.

"Make that two," Cece said.

"Coming right up," she replied.

A few minutes later we had our drinks and we were dancing a bit. I was scanning the room, looking for Timothée, when I made eye contact with a cute guy across the room. He smiled at me. He had brown hair, eyes as blue as the ocean, and an amazing smile. He started making his way over and I began to panic.

"Cece, don't look right now, but there's a guy coming over here," I said to her.

Cece discreetly looked over at him quickly and turned away.

"He's so cute! You should totally go for him!" she said.

"I don't know..." I said, feeling insecure. Then I thought about it and decided I would try anyway. What's the worst that could happen? We were in a huge city, and I would probably never see him again anyway. "Okay, I think I will!" I said as I handed her my phone and my wallet.

"Attagirl!" Cece said with a smile.

Before I knew it, he was standing in front of me flashing his amazing smile.

"Hi, I'm Oliver. What's your name?" he asked.

"I'm Maya, it's nice to meet you," I said, trying not to be awkward.

"Would you like to dance with me?" he asked, and he smiled again and I couldn't resist.

"Yes, I would," I said, smiling back. He reached out his hand and I took it. He led me to the dance floor. I wasn't very good at dancing but I just swayed with the music and so did he. Some more people joined us and soon it was very crowded. I looked around to see where Cece had gone when I locked eyes with Timmy. Suddenly, the room felt a little less crowded. He waved, and I waved back, then I noticed he was dancing with a girl. She was very pretty, and I tried not to be jealous. I focused back on Oliver, and he seemed to notice that something was off.

"Are you okay?" he asked, touching my arm.

I pulled away a little and said, "Yeah I'm fine."

He reached out again, this time grabbing my hips and pulling me closer. Now I was uncomfortable.

"I think I'm gonna go find my friend," I said, pulling away.

"Hey, baby, come back here," he said grabbing my wrist.

"Get off me!" I yelled pushing him away.

He didn't listen, and all of a sudden someone came up to him and punched him right in the jaw.

"She said to get off her," said the man who had saved me.

I looked at him and realized it was Timmy.

"Thanks, Timmy, but I can handle myself," I said, trying to seem confident even though I was grateful that he had taken care of it.

"I'm sure you can, I just thought you might like a little help. Where's Cece?" he asked, looking around.

"I don't know, I said, starting to get worried. I was going to call her when I realized that I had given her my phone and my wallet. We walked around trying to find her when we saw her talking to a guy in the corner. She looked drunk.

"Cece, there you are!" I said. "Who's your friend here?"

"This is Mark," she said, slurring her words.
