I woke up and checked my phone. I saw a text from Timmy. It said, "hey my friend is having a party tonight wanna come?"

I said "sure I'm in" and put my phone down. I went to the kitchen to have breakfast and saw Cece eating a bowl of cereal.

"Good morning," she said as I sat down.

"Good morning," I replied. "I'm gonna go to a party tonight at Timmy's friend's house. Wanna come? I'm sure he won't mind."

"No, that's okay. I was gonna pick up an extra shift tonight."

"Okay," I said, and I started to get nervous about tonight because Cece was always at parties with me, and I got anxious without her by my side. I figured as long as Timmy was there, though, it would be fine.

We finished eating our breakfasts and I said goodbye to Cece as she headed off to work. I only had one class today, and a few hours later, I had gotten home from class and started to get ready for the party. Timmy had texted me again earlier that day telling me that he would pick me up at my apartment at 8. It was currently 6:30, so I had plenty of time to get ready.

I did my makeup and went for a natural look. I picked out my outfit next. I chose my favorite pair of high-waisted jeans and a cute shirt.

After I got ready, I relaxed for a bit, and about half an hour later I heard a knock on the door. I answered it and saw Timmy standing with one arm above his head, leaning against the door frame. He was wearing jeans and a plain white t-shirt, but somehow he still looked like he was about to attend the Oscars.

"Hey!" he said with a big grin.

"Hi," I said.

"You look great," he said, admiring my outfit.

"Thanks, you're not too bad yourself." He laughed.

"Are you ready to go?"

"Yes, I can't wait!" I said, and it was true. I was excited, even though I was also extremely nervous.

We left and got in his car. This time, no limo or driver. He even opened the door for me as I got in the car. I knew we were just going to a party, but it felt a lot like we were going on a date.

While we were driving, Timmy turned on the radio and Hey There Delilah started playing. I love that song. James used to sing along to it and pretend I was Delilah because I had always dreamed of living in New York. I almost forgot that I was in the car with Timmy until he announced, "We're here!"

I looked out the window and saw a huge house with windows lining every wall. I could see people dancing and lights flashing inside. "Woah, this place is huge," I said nervously.

"Don't worry," he said, coming up from behind me. "I'll be by your side the whole night."

We walked in together and instantly the music became 10 times louder. I could barely hear Timmy say, "Let's get a drink."

We walked over to a table with a cooler of beer laying on the ground next to it. He grabbed two and handed me one. I took a sip and looked over at Timmy who was surveying the crowd, although I didn't know who he was looking for. Suddenly his eyes widened and he turned around and looked at me. I could tell he was panicking but I didn't know why.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Lily is here," he said, his voice a little bit higher than usual. "I haven't talked to her since the breakup. You gotta get me outta here."

"Okay, okay, don't worry. Follow me," I said, grabbing his hand and leading him to the other side of the house. Even though I had no idea where I was going, I made my way to the other side of the house and opened a door.
