(I'm sorry it's been so long. We had loss in the family, and school comes before updating. So I'm updating now while I'm motivated. ^^ Enjoy my friends. Warning: slightly long)

Zane groaned, listening to his family talk as they headed out to the mountains. Why did he even agree to going? He was his own person now after all. He was old enough to choose where he wanted to be. Yet something inside him still nagged at him that hurting his mother's feelings wasn't the right decision.

He glanced outside of the car as the large house they were staying at for the week came into view. Finally, no more Disney songs being sang by his brothers, and no more attempts from his mother for him to smile. He tried to drown out all the noise along the trip but thinking it and doing it are two separate things he learned. Zane glanced towards his father as Garte started to speak since he, like his second son, was letting his family enjoy themselves.

"There it is! Now remember, we're here to meet with our new business partners. So please don't possibly ruin this." Garte stated as he pulled up to the building.

"Oh, come on, dear. I'm sure the boys will be fine. They've grown so much since the last time they were here." Zianna gave their sons a positive glance as Vylad beamed back, and Garroth smiled.

Zane clicked his tongue in annoyance as he looked back outside. Maybe he'd finally get some quiet out here. Aphmau, and everyone else at home weren't helping his head these days as he just wished to be left alone. When the car parked, he made sure he was the first to get out.

It was cold, that's for sure. Fresh snow beneath his feet, and wind nipping the air. He took a deep breath, closing his eyes for a moment. This was more like it. Not pressure of people or stress.

He sadly let the feeling go though when he heard his brothers leave the car as well, followed by their parents. As Garte went to unlock the front door, Garroth followed him. Vylad was helping their mother with a box that sat in her lap the whole way there, having small talk with the raven woman.

Adjusting his hoodie, Zane glanced at the forest that surrounded them. It was large, stretched far out beyond what the eye could see. It would definitely be a bitter bank for their warmth, and travel abilities. Though something about it.. Seemed to just be mysterious. He couldn't help but feel like something was watching them. Or at least him. Maybe he was being paranoid.

"Zane! Come on!" Vylad called out as Zianna held the door open for her two youngest sons that were still outside.

Shaking the unnerving feeling off, he hurried over to his family. He let Vylad in first before nodding to their mother in thanks, and heading inside himself.

(The next day - Morning time)

That night, the Ro'meaves had gotten settled in, now more comfortable in the house they didn't quite know yet. It was now a couple hours after dawn. The sky was cloudy, breezes lashing around like a crazy lasso. Bundled up in the soft blankets, Zane layed in his bed, enjoying the peace and quiet. Sure, the night had been cunning with its uncomfortable freezing temperatures but it was better than waking to the noise of cars, and yelling of his friends. Instead he got woken up by his mother lightly knocking. Lucky for Zianna, her son woke to it.

"Zane, breakfast time, honey." Her voice kind as she had learned the hard way not to wake the boy loudly or overdramatically.

"'Kay.." He said, his voice loud enough for his mother to hear. After Zane heard her footsteps fade, he sighed, wondering if he should just go back to sleep. It was too cold to get up. Then again, breakfast would be cold by the time he did get up, and reheating it just didn't make it taste the same.

After a few minutes of contemplation, the raven got up. He lazily put some clean clothes on, and his hoodie over it. His hand ruffling his hair for a moment before he found his brush, and fixed it back over his blind eye.
