This chapter is about before they went to Beacon Hills and the events that lead to them going there <3

Three children were running around on the deck of their family's yacht. They were playing tag, laughing as they tackled each other and the air filled with their high pitch laughter. Their parents sat a little while away, sunbathing and drinking champagne as they celebrated another successful business deal.
A little while later, the mother of the children thew on a sundress and made her way to the table joining her husband as the servers brought out their lunch.
" Children," She had called in a soft and angelic voice to try and grab the attention of their children.
"Children!" She had called again in a sweet yet louder voice. Turning to look at her husband she gave a chuckle.
" I'll go get them," She had announced before gracefully sliding out of her seat and making her way to the lower deck where her children were previously playing.
" Come on little ones its lunchtime," She had said when she was on the lower deck. As she looked around she spotted her three angels dangerously close to the railing. Two of them were halfway through, while the other was completely sitting on the small ledge at the edges of the boat.
" Mommy come look at the mermaid!" They had giggled with excitement when suddenly one of the three slipt and was now hanging off the boat, their little hand grasped onto their siblings as they were the only thing keeping them from tumbling into the sea.
The mother let out a horrifying scream as she quickly rushed over to try and help her children. After hearing her scream, her husband and several staff members came rushing down the steps alarmed. At the sight of the endangered children, several of them let out little gasps.
"Mommmmyyy!" They one dangling over the edge of the tall boat screamed as they wailed in fear.
In an attempt to try and pull up their sibling, the other children went further under the railings now sitting on the same ledge their sibling had previously sat on but without the railing to support the weight all three went toppling into the water with a splash.
Being so young they lacked the knowledge on how to swim and with the strong current constantly trying to pull them under their heads began to sink. The one who had first been dangling had been knocked unconscious when the weight and force of their siblings had come crashing down onto their head.
On the deck of the boat, the parents of the children and the staff who worked for them were all running round in panic and trying to come up with a plan to save the young children who splashed in the water in an attempt to not drown.
As too much seawater began to enter their lungs, making it hard for them to breath the three children all had begun to sink as they were now no longer conscious. Their worlds soon turning black but not before they felt slimy, scaley, webbed hands drag them further under the water.

Now as night began to fall and the coast guard soon gave up hope in finding the three children who had fallen off of their family yacht, the parents of the fallen were arguing with the police and coast guards.
" I don't care how dark it is or how tired you are! I want my children to be found!" She had demanded before bursting into tears and hiding her now make-up and tear-stained face in her husband's neck.
" You heard what she said! Now get on with it before I get you all fired for not doing your jobs properly!" He had shouted, banging his fist on the table before storming out, dragging his crying wife and slamming the door.
While they panicked on the surface, the sirens who had drug the children under after they had fallen, lay their small bodies against some rocks in the shape of a bench that circled the natural pool that lay under the caves. This is where they came on the night of a full moon to recharge as it gave the water healing, charging and transforming properties for example if a human happens to be in the pool when the moon was at its highest, it would transform them into a mermaid or siren.
In an attempt to save the children that had been fascinated by them earlier, they had brought them to the pool and laid them against the rocks so that when the water started bubbling they would not drown before the process had begun.
They watched from outside the cave's entrance as to not disturb the moon water's powers. They were filled with hope and anticipation as they watched.
Not long after the moon finally hit its highest point, its light shining directly into the cave by an opening at the top. The water began to bubble at an impossible wait, the temperature rising as the moon blessed the children with the powers of sirens.
When the moon began to slowly move, now no longer directly above the pool, the water stopped bubbling and the temperature lowered the children awoke. Having no idea where they were or why they were in the water, the children swam closer together and huddled into a corner when their saviours swam into the cave to check if the children had survived the process and were now sirens.
" Look it's the mermaid!" The youngest of the three whispered as she excitedly pointing in the direction of the half-fish. Unfortunately for them, this alerted the mermaids and them swam closer.
The mermaids talked to each other in their own language which mostly sounded like a lot of water being gurgled and spat out. The beautiful yet savage creatures had translucent skin that shimmered, their hands webbed with scales scattered through their arms and finally, their tails which were an ombre of all sorts of colours, shined and sparkled despite being underwater.
Sadly for the children, the sun had begun to rise and the mermaids had decided to return them to their parents on land. Swimming closely the mermaids quickly poured a drop of liquid from a bottle they had found and used to store this mystery liquid that made people fall asleep. It was some kind of human thing that had found its way into the sea but whatever it was it worked and the mermaids carefully grabbed the three children and swam their way the shore in lightning speed leaving bubbles in their wake.
A couple of hours later a morning jogger found the children scattered down the shore and soon rang the police. After going to collect the children and find out if they were the same ones who's parents were reporting the disappearance of earlier.
After being called about their children being found on the shore, the married couple were filled with relief and went to bring their children home.
After they had them checked with the finest doctors and getting them into dry and clean clothes they then out of curiosity asked their children why they so close to the edge of the boat. Them being young and not understanding that adults don't believe in mermaids, they replied with 'there was a pretty mermaid and she was bored so we were trading our ball for a shell so she had something to play with' this had only amused the parents as they gave them a small smile and sent them to bed unknowing of the things that were going to happen in the future.
