flashback

"Choi Yeri, you need to get out of there." Yena said, her hands reaching out to her daughter who had been resisting to get out of their car, saying there's a monster waiting for her inside their house.

"No." Yeri shook her head, duck lips visible as she pouted. As long as Yena wanted to pinch her daughter's cheek, she can't. Yeri had been in there since they arrived from their grandparent's house. She also didn't have lunch today, as she wanted to stay in their car. Yuri and Yena just let her as they're fully aware that she'll just throw tantrums. But now that it's getting late, she has to get her daughter out of there.

"Yeri, you know you can just stick by momma's side if you're scared, right? Cmon." Yena said, trying to pull her out. 

"Nooo!" Yeri shouted. Yena just sighed and proceeded to force her out and carried her inside the house. "Mommy!" Yeri cried out.

"What's wrong Yeri? I thought you said you're a big girl?" Yuri asked. Yeri just shook her head and clung onto her mother's right leg.

"There's a monster inside my room." Yeri said in her tiny baby voice. "I don't wanna go there."

"There are no monsters, Yeri. You slept in that room for almost two years now." Yuri said. "Alright, if mommy stay in your room, will you sleep there?"

Yeri thought of it for a bit, before finally nodding her head. Yena stared at the kid, pouting. "Yeri already has a favorite mom."

Yuri just chuckled, as she continued to cook dinner.

Yuri continued to hum a lullaby as she went out of her daughter's room, finally getting Yeri to sleep after some time. She headed straight to their room, laid down their bed with a sleeping duck beside her. 

'She didn't even waited for me.' Yuri sighed.

Meanwhile, in Yeri's room, the child woke up in the middle of the night. She covered herself with a blanket after seeing the same figure she saw a day ago.

After some time, she uncovered her face, staring at the place she saw the figure. She gladly laid comfortably again after seeing nothing. Maybe she's just seeing things.

But the relief didn't last long after hearing someone whisper beside her, 

'Are you scared of me?'

Yeri stared at her side, seeing a clearer sight of the 'monster' she was so scared of.

"Will you not eat me?" Yeri asked, close to tears.

'I won't. I can't even touch you.' 

'Am I that scary?'

"No, now that I'm seeing you clearly." Yeri said, she was scared earlier, but since they're starting to talk, it faded out.

'You're Yeri, right?'

Yeri nodded.

'My name's Eun-hee.'

"Why are you here?" Yeri asked.

'I wanna see someone. I never got to meet them since I was born. But now that I know who they are, I wanted to visit them.'

"Who?"

'Your parents.'

"You won't hurt them, right?"

'Of course not.' Eun-hee said. 'Why would I hurt my parents after all?' She mumbled.

"What?" Yeri asked, unsure of what the latter just said.

'Oh, nothing. You should sleep. Don't worry, I'll protect you.'
