Aelin POV
All this damsel in distress bullshit I have had to do was getting on my nerves, making it very hard to keep a straight face. What the hell! Just because I was currently human didn't mean I was some piece of luggage to transport here and there.

When the blonde engulfed us in her strange shadows, somewhat similar to Fenrys's power but different, more hostile compared to his calm soothing ones, I was pissed, and I was pretty sure that if I was in fae form I would have caused some serious damage.

The churning, close to overflowing, well of power within me was threatening to explode, but I kept it under control. I would need it, for my world's war, one I was planning to go back to very soon. I need those two months to count for something or I don't know how I am going to live with myself.

My overwhelming rage was momentarily nulled when I landed next to Mor and Fenrys with a thud. I hit my head on the ground which had me groaning, but when I looked up, I saw Orynth. How I dreamt it would be after the war is over, how I would make it. My eyes were close to tears, and my lately haywire hormones weren't helping in the least. I don't know what is up with me.

My thoughts were interrupted by a stupidly handsome male. "Hi, I'm Rhysand the high lord of the night court, you must know my mate Feyre?" he asked, unlike Fenrys who was currently glaring at the fae male, I smiled and introduced ourselves.
"Well, Lillian and Sam, Feyre has asked me to keep you safe here till she comes back, and then we can start figuring out how to get you back to the human lands without waging war on the Spring court as they have lain claim on you, since you entered from their grounds." he said. I was going to rip off that stupid Tamlin's head, what the hell is wrong with him! Claiming me, fucking asshole. My expression did not betray me as I plastered a smile and thanked him for his and Feyre's kindness.

"I will winnow us to the house now, where we will be staying for the time being. I am going to go ahead and apologize right now for my court's behaviour." He said, sighing, and suddenly I was missing Rowan even more. That sounded like something he would say. The fact that I felt like I recognised Rhysand wasn't helping either.

I nodded my consent, Fenrys doing the same before darkness erupted around us.

When the dark receded, I was left retching on the floor. It didn't last long but when I looked up I found Rhysand giving a worried look to Fenrys. I rolled my eyes at their dramatics and turned to Mor to lead the way inside. Good to know fae males have a habit of being dumbasses in every world.

Rhysand and Fenrys followed right behind me and Mor, as we stepped into the house. Inside, there were two very muscular males with wings like bats, one lounging on the sofa like he owns the place and the other with his head lulled back and eyes closed, sitting on the side. They opened the second we stepped in.

"Cassian, Azriel meet Lillian and Sam" announced Rhysand, introducing us.
The silent one- Azriel, nodded his head in greeting, the other one however thought it good to voice his stupid thoughts, "Feyre didn't tell us the little human was pretty." he said looking at me with a shit eating grin. I gave him a sickly sweet smile while Fenrys sneered at him. I wanted to kick him in the nuts for calling me little, but my stupid cover would be blown.
"Where's Amren?" asked Mor with with her brows etched together.
"She'll be here in a second, she was researching with Nesta but we called her, which was scary as shit by the way, but she is coming. Wants to see the new meat." Cassian answered. The whole court looked at me, as if waiting for me to quiver in fear at this Amren's description. I just smiled again and continued staring at the occupants of the room.

The door opened just as I was done analysing everybody, and in stepped a fae, with short black hair and eyes that were being obstructed from view by the book she was reading.
She looked up, as if just sensed our presence. She scanned everyone in the room and then her eyes landed on me. Her eyes, just like Manon's but silver- the kind that sends shivers down your spine and give off waves of terror and darkness.
Her mouth splitting into a grin, mine following hers.
"That's a new level of terrifying." remarked that overgrown bat they call Cassian who was really starting to get on my nerves, but me and Amren didn't pay him any heed.
"I knew you were real. I knew it. Evalin did good." Amren said.
My grin fell of my face, but before I could say a thing, a voice said from behind me, "what did you just say?
What does my mother have to do with any of this?"
Rhysand.
Realisation struck me like a brick to my face.
"Nothing. Not that Evalin" said Amren, and Rhysand visibly relaxed. Me? I wasn't fooled, and the way Amren was still grinning at me like she knew I understood, I knew she was lying.
Oh fuck.
