Chapter 10 (The weak)

It had been a hard day at work.I had been working triple time.I had found an apple tree down by the creek.I filled my sack with apples for the others.I had hoped that by the time I got back,Ethan would feel a little better.Grace has been trying to sneak food into the barn for us.We have had a decent super for at least three days now.I had already aqquired lots of sun burns in the last few hours.I remember what Ethan used to tell me "Don't stay in the sun for over ten hours."I had been out for about 11 hours.I fiannaly saw the barn.I started running as fast as I coul so that I could see Ethan.As I ran through the door i noticed Lucas was sitting on top with Ethan talking with him.Ethan hasn't said anything for the last two days.I put my sack up into the loft that I slept on.I went over by Lucas and Ethan.Ethan looked kind of happy today.He has kept his face towards the wall this entire time.

Later that night Grace came home with two bowls of soup.She handed one to Lucas and the other to me ad Ethan.I wasn't hungry that night so I let Ethan have it.He ate about half of it,but I could tell that he didn't feel good after he ate,because he turned his back towards us again and just layed there holding his stomach.I put the blanket that Grace hd gave me over him to keep him warm.After that Grace and Lucas went over to the otherside of the barn and started eating some of the apples that I had brought.I went over and began eating some with them.They tasted amazing.Considering that we had been living on rotren scraos of food for the kast 7 or 8 years of our lives.

It probably was around midnight.I wenr outside to go to the bathroom and get a drink.While I was going to the bathroom I guess I had passed out again.I must have made a lot of noise because I woke up to Grace shaking me.I told her to go away,because it was just awkward considering I still had to go.So she turned around and walked to the front of the barn.I grabbed onto the pipes to stand up but I got super dizzy and I just puked everywhere.This time Grace didn't care about what I had said.She came running towards me.She didn't even give me a chance to say anything she just picked me up and ran me into the barn and put me onto the bottom loft.Lucas came running towards us,still eating an apple and asked what had happened this time.Grace told him what had happened.He had suggested that I got sick from Ethan,but Grace told him that Ethan didn't just passout.Grace than looked at my arms and saw the sunburns she also saw them on my legs.She suddenly looked md.She asked if I had been outside for a long time.I said "Yeah,but I didn't think I was out there that long."She responded with "Well,you were out there for at least over 10 hours."She said that she thinks I got sun stroke.I just shrugged and said "Goodnight I guess."

Earlier the next morning I noticed Grace was packing backpacks full of food,blankets,everything that was in my mom's cabinet,our clothes,a pocket knife,2 bows,a ton of arrows,and candles with matches.She noticed me stand there and came over to me and said "We can't do this anymore.We are going to the city today to find help for Ethan and you.We can start a new life there.I can sell stuff to pay for a house and food.Go pack anything you want to bring with you into this sack.I did as she said.With out a single question.
