Title: The Art of Love
Genre: Fantasy/Greek Myth
(A/N: This is my own take on the story of Eurydice and Orpheus.)• Start.
Tawan had a divinely gifted voice that could charm everyone who heard it. The myth says that no God or mortal could resist his music. Even the rocks and trees would move themselves just to be near him. The strange and angelic music of Tay would enchant the mind of people to the things over natural and had the power to broaden the mind to new, unusual theories. Tay used to spend much of his early years in the idyllic competitions of music and poetry. His skill had far surpassed the fame and respect of his harmony. Humans and beasts alike would be mesmerized by it, and often, even the most inanimate objects would yearn to be close to him. Well into his youth, he had mastered the cello, and his melodious voice garnered him audiences from near and afar.
One gloomy day, on the gathering of humans and beasts, he saw a man named Atthaphan. Who was indeed stunning at that moment. He couldn't take his eyes off him.
Gun, on the other hand, was drawn to the music Tawan played. It was as if he already heard the best beauty of music. That day, Gun didn't leave Tay's mind to the point that in every song that he will play, he'll think about him. Like, he was always performing for him even though he wasn't there.
Something inexplicable tugged the hearts of the two young people, and soon they felt dearly in love and was unable to spend a single moment apart from each other.
Tawan didn't stop courting Atp using his talent, he was so determined to marry him, and no one, not even his parents, can stop him from doing it.
As the years go by, their love for each other is getting deeper. They never fought, for they always tend to understand and listen to each other.
Everyone admires their tenderness because, for them, that is what you can call purity. That everything they do is made of love.
Their relationship is ideal, for it was so flawless that even people around tried to ruin them. The only thing they could ever hear is their hearts, that is telling them how sacred their love is.
After two years, they decided to get married. The weather was nice. The setting is perfect; people around are happy for them.
The moment Gun walks, Tawan started singing and playing his cello. He was fascinated by his husband's beauty to the point that he is not looking at the instrument he is playing. That his two eyes are glued on his spouse, but even though his eyes are on him, the way he plays the music is still beyond perfection.
Before Gun could ever come close to Tay, he was already dead. Atp stumbles and falls. Tawan was unable to comprehend what had just happened. He rushed to his side but stopped short in dismay, for his eyes perceived the deathly pallor that suffused Gun's cheeks. Due to jealousy, someone killed him. Tawan cried. He wants to end his life too because there's no more point in staying here if Atthaphan will not be with him.
He kissed the forehead of his husband. He was just quiet. He didn't blame anyone around. That's the reality. No matter how many people admire your relationship, there is still someone who will envy you. And he understands that maybe that was the reason why somebody killed Gun.
Tay was voiceless the whole wake. The only thing he could do is cry and mourn for his loss.
As soon as his tears stop, Tawan was no more the same carefree person he used to be. His life without Gun seemed endless and could do nothing more than grief for him.
