Chapter 22

The sun shines through the window coming right into my eye. I woke up in Ryder’s arms. I looked up and see he is staring at me. I smiled and he kissed my forehead. “Good morning.” I said still smiling. “Morning.” He mumbled in his morning voice. God his morning voice was so hot and manly. Why must he mock me? “You want to go to the café and get breakfast?” I asked. “Yeah. Let’s go take a shower and we will go.” He said getting up. I guess I have to take a shower with him. We walked into the bathroom. “Where is your mom?” I asked. “She went on a business trip with her boss.” Ryder informed. “Business trip?” I asked raising an eyebrow. He giggled and rolled his eyes. He pushed me into the shower making me laugh more. We finished up the shower and headed out to the café.

“Hey Xavier.” Said Faye soon as me and Ryder walked into the café. “I actually need to talk to you.” I told Faye. “Do you mind getting us a seat?” I asked turning back to Ryder. He nodded and went to find a seat. “What is it?” She asked worried. “I am not going to be able to accept the job offer Faye. My mom got a job in Los Angeles and she is making me go with her. I am truly sorry that I wasted your time. I just thought I should tell you.” I said awkwardly. “Oh that is ok Hun. I am sorry to hear you are leaving. If anything changes you know I am here. And the spot is always opened for you.” She smiled and gave me a hug. I smiled and walked over to Ryder. “How did it go?” Asked Ryder. “Ok I guess. Now I have to tell our friends. And that just makes me more depressed.” I responded and he reached over the table and grabbed my hand. I smiled at him and looked down at the menu. “What can I get you guys?” Asked Faye. “Can I just have a Double expresso with skim and an omelet?” I responded. “Of course and what about you Ryder?” She turned to Ryder. “Um I will have the same.” He smiled and she went into the back. “Well you have less than a week to tell them. But hey at least we don’t have school this week because of the plumbing exploded and flooded parts of the school.” Ryder laughs. “We can thank Shay and Callum for that.” I laughed with him. We began to stare at each other and smile. His eyes are so dreamy. You can fall right into them. I look over and see Jayden and Caiden walking in. “Look.” I told Ryder and he turned around. He looked back at me and smiled. “Hey love birds.” Ryder laughed at Caiden and Jayden. ”Oh come on. You guys did it again?!” Jayden asked looking at the both of us. “You can smell that?” Caiden asked Jayden. Jayden nodded. Caiden started to laugh. “I have to tell you guys something….” I looked at Caiden and Jayden. They had a look on their face of worry. “I am… Moving to Los Angeles Friday….” I mumbled. “What?” Caiden and Jayden said at the same time. “Why?” Caiden asked. “My mom got a job and she is making me go with her and Alena.” I responded. “But you can’t leave your mate.” Jayden told me looking at Ryder. “I know… I know… But…” I began to say and Shay and Sutton come running in with Callum behind them. “What is this I hear of you moving Friday?!” Shay shouted making everyone stare. “Really Callum? You had to tell them?!” I shouted. “I got drunk last night with them and we haven’t slept all night and I kinda just told them. And so Sutton tracked your phone.” Callum mumbled still wasted. “You tracked my phone?” I look over to Sutton. “Don’t change the subject. Why is your mom making you move?!” Shay yelled at me looking me in the eye. “You are kinda making a scene in a peaceful coffee shop Shay.” I informed her. “Just answer the fucking question Xavier.” She demanded. Oh god. When she is mad she can make all these pipes under the ground explode. Like at school. “Calm down. My mom is making me because she doesn’t want to leave me behind I guess.” “She can’t make you leave! I need you! Ryder needs you! WE NEED YOU!” Shay says starting to cry. I got up from the table and hugged her. “Why Xavier? Why?” She says crying more. “I’ll come and visit. You know that I will. And I hate that I have to go but my mom needs me. I need to protect her.” “But Alena can do that.” “True.” I started to giggle. She started to giggle along. “Now can Ryder and I eat our breakfast in peace?” I asked. They all nodded and separated to a different part of the café. I sat down at the table and Ryder started to laugh shaking his head. “What’s so funny?” I asked looking at him with a death stare. “You are so demanding.” He said still laughing. “Oh and you are not?” I asked crossing my arms. “I am but demanding looks hotter on you.” He winked. I rolled my eyes and Faye came with our food. “Here you guys go. Enjoy.” She smiles and walks away. We finished up breakfast and went home. This is going to be hard when I leave. Really hard. I don’t want to and to be honest, I wish I could stay. I am not a big city guy.
