13 Reasons Why

Chapter 2

     Calum's Pov

       November 5th, 1 day before 

I'm freaking out. Luke isn't answering any of my texts or phone calls. I get a bad vibe that something really bad is happening. I quickly lace up my Vans and run out of the door to my car. As I'm driving to Luke's house, I don't pay attention to the speed limit. I need to get there as fast as I can to find out if he is okay. I call Luke's mom and tell her that something is happening with Luke and that she needs to leave work as soon as possible to get home. When I reach his house I run inside, racing up the stairs to his room. I unlock the door, slower than usual because my hands are shaking like crazy. When I get into his room I find the worst thing possble. Luke, laying still and cold on his bed. Not breathing. I notice the spilled pill bottle as i burst into tears, going over to him. i can't stop sobbing. My best friend, gone forever. And I had never even got to say goodbye. I feel so horrible, like this was all my fault. I just lost the most important thing in my life, no one will ever be like Luke. I won't be able to go to school. All I can do is cry, I'm not going to be able to eat, or talk, or do anything without the memories of Luke and I flooding back. Making me have a fit of sobs. Why? Why Luke? Luke was the best person in the world, he never deserved this.

Dear Calum,

        Leaving you was one of the hardest things to do. I just want you to know that you were not the cause of this. You gave me the best friendship anyone could ask for, no one was ever as good as you. I'll miss you when I'm gone. Don't forget about me. You made my life happy, and amazing. There were other problems in my  life, but not one of them involved you. Just remeber that. You cheered me up through all of the bad things I've encountered. Thank you, for everything.
