Prologue|The Underworld

Hey guys! Since I'm in exam week, I thought I wouldn't upload in a while because y'know. Study. Tutor. Exam. Assignments. Sooo this is what I wrote some time ago but didn't know when to update, since I was having some trouble trying to figure out when to update this, I kinda forgot about it xd. Well, welcome to R. A. T. 3rd POV

The Underworld's beauty was unimaginable. The obvious winner of all the worlds. Trees were still standing high in the air, water was so clean that you could drink out of it and the central city was the tourist's main zone. Human population would grow every year by at least a thousand and at least one more Integrity Knight was selected. However, all the things: the trees, water, humans, everything were made out of codes. The perfect world was none other than a fake. Kirito, or Kazuto Kirigaya, the man who defeated SAO- the death game that had been released in 2022, and which had taken over 4000 lives, was a 'beta tester' for the Underworld. Seijirou Kikuoka, a member whose' mission was to help the SAO survivors, had asked Kirito before. Kirito, who at the moment desperately needed a part-time job to support his family and girlfriend, agreed.

"So... all I have to do is go into a Soul Translator and spend some time in the 'Underworld'?" Kirito asked, as this was too much money for such a simple task.

"Yes. All you have to do is go in and... pretty much test it out." Kikuoka confirmed.

"Then what will happen to my body IRL when inside?"

"No problem. Like the Nervegear, you cannot move your body when inside. Everything you imagine inside your head will be displayed, but stunts will be unable to be done since it will be relying on your real life stats. Well, enjoy." The STL's cover covered Kirito's face as he dived into another world.

Kirito entered the world without any trouble and was raised in the village of Rulid alongside his childhood friends: Alice and Eugeo. Eugeo and Alice, a boy and girl who were neither American or Japanese. Both had blonde hair with dazzling eyes, Eugeo's dark green and Alice's sapphire blue.

By the age of 10, the children were selected for a 'Calling' (job). Alice, being the eldest daughter of Chief Gasupht, was selected to train her sacred arts. Eugeo and Kirito, being both born to common families, were assigned into... an impossible calling. They had to cut down the Gigas Cedar. A mission many had failed for over 6 generations.

The Gigas tree was monstrous, and if it had an AI attached to it, it would've been the local monster around the village. Maybe cross the road and see something tearing down your house. The tip of the tree had the two of the most powerful elements in the Underworld. Earth and fire. The tip had inherited the most devilish beams of Solus, goddess of the Sun and the most nutrients from Terraria, goddess of the earth.

"Eu~geo~" a young boy with midnight black hair and mischievous face features stroking the ground with a stick once more. "You got 37~ you've gotta buy the spiral water today~"

"Oh shut up, Kirito," an ash brown haired boy, whose hair had a tinge of waviness spoke up with annoyance.

"Well, I got 40, you got 37. You're gonna buy the spiral water tomorrow~!"

"Ok, I'll buy it, stop shoving it in my face."

"Oh, I'm not gonna." Kirito jumped onto Eugeo, starting a little rumble.

"If you have that much energy, shouldn't you be depleting the health of the tree? Not your partner?" The boys raised their heads to see who was in front of them. Alice, their childhood friend and the cook for the boys. Her golden braids shone brightly from the reflection from the sun and bounced off light as well.
