This is my first time really venturing out and posting a piece of writing that I never thought I'd have the nerve to let leave the drafts of my PC. I am no where near being the greatest at writing but I love writing and I would love to share what comes up in my head with any of you guys that would like to read my work. Don't be afraid to let me know what you think. I have ran this through major editing but if I missed anything I apologize. Have fun reading. :)

Ahh the first day of school. Everyone says you should be nervous, excited, happy to see your friends. That would be true if I really had any. My bestfriend Maddox was the only one I hung out with and talked too but he doesn't count we basically grew up together. Our moms even have pictures of us in the bath tub, it's embarrassing. Senior year starts today and I can tell you I am none of the things above. I can already tell today is going to be a total drag.

I've always envied the energy Maddox seems to carry as he's almost always energetic and happy, if he's not there is defiantly something seriously wrong and everyone should steer clear of his rampage. He was always the happy one dragging me along behind him as children. He's quiet for a minute waiting for a response from yours truly but soon gave up noticing I was waiting for him to repeat himself. "Anywayyyys." He sang pulling into the school lot in our normal spot the farthest away from the door of course he turns to face me. "Since you were in your own little melon Ms. Dasiey you missed the part where I was talking about this supposed hot new guy enrolling this year." He started giving me a pointed look. "Okay finish." I said knowing he was about to talk my ear off for the next ten minutes till first bell rang. "So, I heard he the total typical bad boy leather jacket and pretty eyes to match." He seemed so excited to share to this information with me that I didn't even want to ask where he dug it all up from. "Awe Dox you have a crush don't you? Is he even gay?" I question.

Maddox is gay and out to both our family and school. He came out formally when we were 16. I remember it to this day like it was yesterday. We were sitting in our favorite both in our favorite dinner in town. He was so nervous he almost threw up on the drive there. I was so happy to be the first one he told though I always knew he was he didn't even have to tell me. Not that any of us cared that he was gay we still loved him as the same Maddox that we'd all know from the beginning. He was very lucky his family was excepting because not everyone is so lucky in our little bible town. My phone vibrates in my hand letting me know that we had five minutes to get to class. I looked back up at his tall frame as he ran a hand through is medium length sandy blonde hair as he always does. "We've got to get going Dox or we're going to be late we can continue this in home room." I push.

He shoves his keys in his pocket and steps out of the Durango as I jump out for the fact that I am nearly a foot shorter than him. I stand 5'4 compared to his tall stature of 6'5. He gets in the back seat grabbing both of our bags as he does every morning and slings them over his shoulder taking my hand in his as we start towards the door. No one thought anything of our clinginess towards each other as he was out at school and that fact that we are childhood best friends. Everyone knew us rather I liked it or not. My brother Beau had graduated from our high school Diamond West the pervious year on a D1 scholarship to Georgia State for baseball. Maddox also played baseball for our high school team and was damn good. I'm at every game to support him with my matching jersey, I'm almost positive I'll always be his biggest fan. He will most likely get a D1 scholarship as well as scouts have talked him up since he was old enough to talk about college ball.

He starts to talk again as we start towards the front entrance. "Probably not gay but that doesn't mean I won't enjoy the eye candy Dasiey. And you are still totally available." He gave me a wink. Smiling for the second time this morning at the childhood nickname Dox gave me when we were little as I fiddled with the Dasiey pendant around my neck he gave me for my 16th birthday. Dox' mom has a whole flower garden of daisies in their back yard ever since I can remember and I was totally obsessed with them as a kid. Dox teasingly starting calling me it when he stumbled across the bouquet of dried flowers I had sneakily taken from the garden and hung on a string in my closet when we were in middle school. "How many times do I have to tell you I'm not looking for a relationship Dox." I scrunch my nose up as I reach the door he just open and scurry into the building under his arm.
