It was so bright. Everything was white and my ear was buzzing and screaming. I couldn't move. It smelled like cars. My eyes adjusted to the light. I was tied to a chair. I was in a warehouse, it looked like a mechanics garage. That explained the smell. Oh no. Alex.
"ALEX!" I yelled, "Where are you!"
"Uggh, stop, don't be so loud," Alex replied, "my head hurts. Wha~, where are we?"
"Haha, you're somewhere where you don't want to be."
Oh, great, the mobsters. Why is he trying to be scary? It's not working.
"Are you scared yet?" said the man again
"Stop playing games Ticco", said another voice.
"Fine bOSs", said Ticco, "whatever you say cause you are the boss of ALL of us"
"Ticco, you better shut before I send ya to the graveyard, go check on Sal and Smokes"
Benny walked out to where I could see him.
"Why are we here?" I demanded.
"Why do ya think?" responded Benny, "Boss wants you back."
"Well I ain't coming back, Boss knows that."
"Ain't is not a word." whispered Alex
"Time and a place Alex." I said back.
"You boys just sit tight." said Benny, "I'm gonna go call Boss an tell him you're here and willing to beez his right hand man again."
"I'm not willing." I said firmly.
"Oh, I think you will, especially since we've got your boy here."
He walked out.
Oh no. We had to get out of here. Now.
I looked around us. There was a couple of broken cars, a lot of rusty pieces of cars, in the corner there was a big and long roll of carpet. At least, I hoped it was just carpet. I saw tools on the walls and scattered around the floor, those would be useful later. There was a bunch of chemicals and cleaning supply bottles nearby. Wait, there was a bottle of antifreeze in the bunch of chemicals. Great, now I just had to see. YES! Our rope was nylon! I wonder where they got that? Antifreeze will dissolve nylon rope. I had to take a corrosive chemicals class before I could get hired by Bigworth's. Now I just have to get to the bottle and open it.
I scooted over to the bottle and grabbed it with my legs.
"Alex!" I whispered, "Can you come here and twist the bottle cap?"
Alex moved his chair inch by inch to get close enough to reach one hand on to the bottle cap. He could just reach it enough to turn it half way open. I tipped my self over in the chair and waited to hear footsteps. There were none.
"Alex," I whispered again, "grab the bottle and tip it on to my rope."
"Don't hit my skin!" I whispered intently.
"I think it's working." said Alex.
"Be quiet," I whispered, "You have to whisper."
My ropes were cut. I slowly got up and and started to drip the liquid on to Alex's ropes. Finally they were split and I helped Alex up.
